And BTW the policy to remove friends of Putin, like Shokin, from Ukraine began in Obama’s first term. So the date of Hunter joining Burisma in 2013 is still meaningless.

Only what I read in Hillary’s book about her time as Secretary of State: that Shokin was working with Putin to try and undermine Ukraine. It was American policy to try and remove everyone connected to Putin. I don’t think it had anything to do with Burisma

It actually doesn’t because the entire Obama administration wanted Victor Shokin fired long before Hunter worked for Burisma, and this is well documented. You’d have a much better case if Joe Biden took money and then acted AGAINST previous policy, not in favor of it.

I dunno. I watched almost all of the January 6 hearings, and while they made Trump look completely awful, they failed to make the case, at least IMO, that he deliberately incited the riot, OR that he deliberately broke the law trying to change the result of the election. (I believe he broke the law attempting to change the result of Georgia but that’s a separate issue.) Now these new charges claim that Trump did indeed attempt to illegally change the results of the election. We’ll have to see what the evidence shows but my immediate feeling is that this may be very difficult to prove.

I love how you guys try and pretend this isn’t going to happen. Choose somebody else, ANYBODY else besides Trump, and a lot of us won’t vote for Biden. You’re the guys forcing us into it. Your first sentence is fair, but of course right now it strongly looks like Trump will be the opponent. If it’s not Trump then depending on what the facts turn out to be about Biden I will reconsider. I strongly disagree with your second sentence, obviously.

Suppose I accept the premise of this thread without question or doubt. Shouldn’t I still vote for Joe Biden? His opponent lies more than Joe does, is more corrupt than Joe is, is far less competent, and favors policies I strongly disagree with. Given the choice between these two guys I would still eagerly vote for Joe Biden.

His numbers are as strong as ever among Republicans: 71% according to latest polling. How much of this is “yeah we really want Donald Trump to be our next President”, and how much of this is “Let’s piss off the libs even more! Screw you, liberals!” ??

I think it’s pretty obvious that Hunter Biden committed wrongdoing. I think you’re going to have a lot of trouble tying it to Joe Biden. If you do I will support removing him. But I think you want to remove Biden mainly because you don’t like him and don’t approve of his politics.

IF it’s found to be true. That’s a big if. For what it’s worth I agree with that.

Most of America thinks the way I do on this subject. That doesn’t make us right, but I think we are. Im not really a liberal on most issues though I often call myself one. But I’d be proud to be one.

They’re not worried. In fact the Democrats By all reports are enjoying this. They know that if the Republicans go through with this it will only strengthen Biden. They may enjoy it but I don’t. I hate that so much time is being spent on this when this country has real problems. It was one thing to impeach Trump; he committed crimes and deserved it. Biden does not. IMO, this is all a sham.

Officially as of this morning. A formal public announcement early next week. As a liberal I disagree with Scott much of the time. But I like him.He’s a good, decent man, very competent, and I believe he would be a good President. I am also quite confident that if he is the Republican nominee, Biden will lose. On the other hand- if the Republicans truly want to stop Trump from winning the nomination (and losing the general election) they need to coalesce behind one alternative. Can Scott be that guy? Time will tell but it doesn’t look great at the moment.

Unless he decides he doesn’t want it anymore he’s the nominee. So maybe 95%.

Scott is slowly rising in the polls- not enough to challenge Trump but rising anyhow. And getting good reactions from crowds, even MAGA types. Meanwhile DeSantis is fading. Consider this possibility: Scott surprises by finishing second behind Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire. This causes DeSantis and the rest of the crowd to quit. As Trump’s legal battles mount…who knows? If enough Republicans get the message that Tim Scott can beat Biden but Trump can’t….I know I know it’s a real long shot but hey there’s a chance, right?

It’s a dictatorship in terms of one guy having control of the country and if you challenge that you’re looking at imprisonment or murder. But it’s also not Communist in terms of that if you’re a regular Russian citizen, your life is much more free than it was during the years of the Soviet Union.
