Question for you: I’m not a Christian, but my understanding is that Jesus never mentioned abortion in the New Testament. Am I correct?

The tax means something to about half of the owners (including the Angels’ owner Arte Moreno.) It means nothing to the Dodgers or the Yankees or the Blue Jays or Padres or Red Sox. That’s why those teams will always eventually be in contention, while my Angels almost never are. It’s very frustrating.

I wouldn’t just open the border. In fact I’ve come around sharply on this issue in recent months. During the Obama and Trump years, we were taking in 2-3000 illegals a month. Now we’re taking in 12,000-15,000 a month. As much as I sympathize with these people (and I do, I don’t look at them negatively), those numbers are unsustainable for us.) We’re going to have to put a halt to it. I want to find a way to do it humanely; I hate the Trump proposals which struck me as vindictive and cruel. I still want to revamp the entire system long term. But for now we have to stop these numbers from coming however we can. Did I just lose my liberal card? It’s what I think.

One thing I like about this list, better than the order: the song selections. For example they list “Whole Lotta Rosie” as their selection for great guitar by AC/DC. I love that tune but I never bothered to listen to the guitars in particular. Now I will.

That all depends. If it helps them think for themselves I would say yes. And for the vast majority of college graduates I would say yes.

It’s kind of exhausting arguing with an anti-Semite (though I continue to suspect it’s part shtick. If he truly hated all Jews why would he even bother to engage with me in the first place?)

I’m pretty skeptical of that number but even if true, there are 1.4 million Jewish children in America, the majority in NYC so yeah it’s a tiny number even so. The Israelis have treated the Palestinians poorly at times. To the best of my knowledge they have not engaged in genocide, that word seems to get thrown around kind of liberally these days. Actual genocide is a pretty rare thing (let’s hope it stays that way.)

Yes. And so just looked it up. So you’re referring to some weird practice by a tiny number of ultra orthodox Jews. The vast majority of Jews don’t behave that way. I went under the knife (though I don’t really remember it.) I had never heard of the practice you’re referring to but apparently it does exist, somewhere. Not representative.

Is there any evidence that any students at these campuses actually said anything that calls for genocide? “From the river to the sea” is not a genocidal comment. I would hate to think that these deans lost their jobs for a theoretical question.

Republicans are supposedly attempting to tie Ukraine funding to securing the border. But it’s BS because the Republicans are insisting on extreme measures on the border which they know Democrats will nevet accept. Republicans in Congress have no interest whatsoever in fixing the border or dealing with illegal immigration; they want to keep it going as an issue to use against Democrats. And now it gives them a ready made excuse not to fund Ukraine (since they know that the isolationism their base is for is not so popular with the public as a whole.)

This is shtick at this point right?
