Mitch McConnell is worth 35 million: https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-politicians/republicans/mitch-mcconnell-net-worth/ I could do this all day. If you have proof that Biden is a criminal then show it. His net worth of 9 million doesn’t prove anything.

Kevin McCarthy, for example is worth 95 million: https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth/politicians/kevin-mccarthy-net-worth/ Pretty good for a life long politician from Bakersfield!

Biden’s net worth is 9 million: https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth/politicians/joe-biden-net-worth/amp/ Most of this came after he was VP- speaking fees and the like. Compared to other prominent politicians it’s not very impressive.

But this is all based on the source Giuliani was peddling right?
-
No. I don’t think that Biden is a crook.

1. Hunter was given that money and job in the hope that Joe would be favorable. Happens all the time. It’s corrupt but not unusual. Same reason so many diplomats and international businesses stayed at Trump’s hotel . It would be unusual if Joe took money directly in return for actual favors. If you can prove that, you’ve got something. Same for the second assertion- prove it and I’m willing to throw the book at Biden.

I still don’t understand how he was misrepresented.

You really need to separate: 1. Did Biden use his influence to allow Bunter to get a sweet plea deal on tax evasion? I don’t know, but that’s what the whistleblowers say, and it wouldn’t surprise me. Politicians pull this crap all the time. It’s wrong and crappy but doesn’t IMO rise to a serious offense. 2. Did Biden accept money from Ukraine and/or China in exchange for political favors? That’s a serious offense. It’s treason if it happened. It’s as bad or worse as anything Trump is charged with. But I have strong doubts that this ever happened. You claim we’ll never know because of a DOJ coverup and I have even stronger doubts about that claim.

When you write that they misrepresented…what did he actually say? Do you have a direct quote? The Times gave one.
-
Again, your assumption here is based on a whistleblower who will not testify and is himself under charge for working with China. But if you read what he reportedly told investigators, it’s filled with contradictions. I’m highly skeptical. Now there were two other whistleblowers who testified yesterday that Biden used his influence to interfere with the prosecution of Hunter over tax evasion. That’s far more believable to me. These guys pull small acts of corruption all the time. But I don’t think it rises to an indictment or an impeachable offense.

Trump is just worse. That’s an honest opinion from me, not pretense. I don’t like Joe Biden but I don’t believe he’s guilty of any major crimes. The evidence isn’t there.

1. I don’t think it is a lie. I read in the New York Times that RFK Jr suggested that the Covid virus was designed to be less effective for Ashkenazi Jews. Was that false reporting? It was reported in many places. 2. Of course the Democrats want total dominance. So do the Republicans. But like the dog chasing the car they have no idea what they would do if they got it.

The supposed crime that Joe Biden has committed is that he received money for favors as Vice President through his son Hunter. I don’t believe he is guilty of this crime. But if there is enough evidence to prove it then of course he should be charged and punished (as well as impeached and removed.) But I don’t think there IS evidence and that’s what separates Biden from Trump at this time. I believe that if the House Republicans thought that there was evidence of such a crime they would have already begun impeachment proceedings.

@jerryskids and @RLLD: I regard the two of you, along with @Voltaire, as the most reasonable and deepest thinkers of the conservatives in this forum, who are willing to engage in serious discussion. I’ve just returned from a trip to Europe and I’ve read through your arguments in this thread. My main objection to your arguments, and to similar ones from Republican politicians, is that you provide no means to punish Donald Trump if he commits a serious crime, which I believe he has on a few occasions. Every time he is charged the same response is offered: the justice system is weaponized, this is an attempt to defeat the conservative movement. If we take this argument to its logical conclusion we can never charge Trump, or any other politician, with any crime.

I don’t really think that RFK, Jr is a threat to Democrats. I think on paper he could be, but his anti-vax stands and his conspiracy theories (which are at times anti-Semitic) don’t really have any pull among Democratic voters. I suspect the numbers he is currently receiving is based on name recognition, nothing more. Manchin isn’t a threat because centrists are never a threat to the establishment, no matter how much they appear at times to defy it. Manchin is about as much a threat to the Democrats as John McCain was to Republicans. No grass root support. The real threat to Democrats from within is where it’s always come from: the progressive movement. When they push the party too far to the left it makes Republicans lives easier. We live in a country where the public simply does not like being pushed too far to the left or the right and usually vote accordingly.
