The vast majority of those from the Middle East that we let into this country, as refugees or immigrants, are hard working Americans who want nothing more than freedom and economic opportunity. I’m proud and happy that they come here and I for one continue to welcome them same as I do immigrants and refugees from every other part of the globe. As far as I’m concerned the nativism that you are expressing here, and your characterization of these poor people, is anti-American, opposed to our core values, THIS more than any other issue is the main reason I am opposed to MAGA and will always fight those that think like you.

Political violence is unacceptable, 100% of the time, and always needs to be punished.

I know some of you are rooting for this. About 20 extreme Republicans are trying to force the rest into it. And apparently Trump behind the scenes is pushing for it as well. They want to shut down Ukraine spending. Actually, it sounds like they want to shut down ALL spending. They want to tear it all down.

This is the part, that you repeat on a consistent basis, that makes everyone who reads your posts think “damn what a scumbag”. In case you ever wonder about it.

Schumer’s comment was foolish but nowhere near at the level of the threats by Trump. It’s not even comparable and it’s pretty pathetic that you even brought it up. Trump is continuing to threaten judges in real time. As an aside you should know that I wanted the folks who demonstrated in front of Kavanaugh’s house arrested. Their presence was threatening and there was no excuse for it. Even so I stand by the main thrust of my post, however embarrassing and irresponsible that you think it is. The vast majority of these incidents are from MAGA nuts. There is no one like Trump for inciting violence on the liberal side. Your mention of Schumer is laughable.

Minuses if Trump wins: End of American democratic system of government. Pluses if Trump wins: Barbra Streisand leaves the country. Gotta admit this is nearly even. FTR, the basic tenets of Communism are: 1. A one party government (the dictatorship of the proletariat). 2. Seizure of the means of production by the state- no private property whatsoever. 3. Full collectivization of all industry and a totalitarian government. Challenge anyone to produce a Democrat who supports any of these points.

Newsom does not push Communist ideology. Nor any Democrat I can think of. Your assertion makes me wonder if you truly understand what Communism is.

I don’t need to do Biden. He’s not an existential threat. Trump is. Biden has not led us into any wars.

Thanks. I generally like Sam Harris (not so much Bari Weiss) and I will listen when I have a chance. But I don’t struggle with moral equivalency. When I see something wrong I call it out.

It is extremist, and wrong, to call all or even most Trump supporters racist. The vast majority of Trump supporters aren’t racist, or fascists, or terrible people. I think most of you are good people who truly want what’s best for the country. That being said I think many of you deliberately, consciously overlook the bigotry, racism, and fascism of Donald Trump because of the things you like about him. And for those who follow politics like yourself, that’s shameful IMO. I can forgive those who aren’t paying attention and support Trump because they want lower inflation or whatever. I can’t forgive those who know what he is and ignore it or lie to themselves.

Are there crazy far left types out there? Sure. But the difference is that the major political liberal leaders aren’t out cheering them on. This crap is SOLELY on conservatives. You are the guys who bought into Trump, and still support him. Own it.

Here’s the most important part of this story which a lot of you seem to be missing, perhaps on purpose: once again Donald Trump spews hateful and dangerous lies about a political opponent and once again the result is some crazy MAGA nut decides to commit an act of violence as a result. This is the world we’re living in now. There’s no whataboutism, nothing on the “other side” that compares to this- it’s the main conservative politician making dangerous threats and his followers paying attention. It’s despicable and the fact that some of you still support this guy is really shameful. How long before some MAGA nut decides to kill one of the judges that Trump is threatening on a daily basis? Or his or her family? Or one of the prosecutors? Will that finally change your minds? Sadly I doubt it.

Once again I am befuddled by the posts Blue Horseshoe has offered here. First he quoted me though none of the quotes were contradictory to each other, so what was the point? Then he linked videos of stuff I disapproved of when it happens- particularly the protests that took place at Justice Kavanaugh’s house- in which I stated at the time, and still believe, that everyone who took part ought to be arrested. Just bizarre.
