Never. Minorities can certainly be racist. But they don’t control the levers of society.

I love all the analysis. But if you’re really trying to figure out me or the other Tim, it’s pretty simple: we’re the normal ones. We have normal views about race and racism. We’re not extreme anything. We take the reasonable approach to these issues.

The shift in opinion needs to come from the other side. It needs to come from white conservatives who need to finally accept the fact that: 1. They are not victims in our society. 2. Racism against minorities still goes on, big time. 3. Ad a general rule they don’t have to be scared of black and brown people, it’s the other way around. When white conservatives finally accept these obvious truths we will live in a much better society.

I wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. The NC murder SHOULD be diminished- not because it wasn’t awful, but because the reaction to it is so racist and ugly.

The other story is completely irrelevant. I don’t even care about it, truthfully (except feeling bad for the victim as usual.) I only brought it up to demonstrate that the focus on THIS story is a play towards racism: pretty white girl gets stabbed to death by a black dude. That’s red meat for all of you who live in this fantasy world in which white people are threatened by minorities. It’s ugly and total crap and I’m sick of it. So sick of MAGA bigotry and fear. It’s disgusting.

Ugly racism as usual. Last week a black man in Los Angeles got stabbed on a bus by a white guy- no national coverage, no attention paid by Trump or MAGA. I’m very sorry for this girl, and her loved ones. But if she wasn’t white and pretty and murdered by a black dude we’d have never heard about it.

Trump may well be saved from this by the Supreme Court. It would be a great out for him: “Hey I wanted to do it but they wouldn’t let me.” (It would be a great result for the country if this happens.)

There is no way to fight this except for the Democrats to win more elections and change the laws. That’s it. I don’t agree with the Supreme Court (obviously) but they get to decide. The polls suggest that what ICE is doing here is growing more and more unpopular. Let’s hope that’s the case and that it’s reflected in next year’s elections. Otherwise we’re screwed, IMO.

The lawsuit against the WSJ did not argue that the birthday note was a forgery; it says that the note is “nonexistent”- the basis of the lawsuit is that WSJ fabricated the note. Yet here it is. Now Trump’s team is arguing that the signature is clearly a forgery, but doesn’t explain why someone would forge Trump’s signature 20 years ago prior to his entry into politics (this is reminiscent of the Obama birth certificate conspiracy in which a similar question was never answered.) In this forum, the usual suspects aren’t bothering to defend any of this. They simply bring up the old BS about Biden.

Trump won’t comment on the birthday note because it’s a “dead issue”. Move on.

How long are conservatives going to pretend that this isn’t an issue, while claiming the real issue is black on black violence? Democrats tried to pass the George Floyd act which might have helped prevent this sort of thing, but Republicans stopped it. Donald Trump is campaigning on giving police unfettered power and immunity against being charged for this sort of activity. Which side are you on?

I was arguing against the specific point that “taxpayers are paying for his defense.” That is false. Taxpayers are paying for his prosecution which frankly strikes me as unnecessary. I don’t really buy that he’s a serious criminal and I don’t think we as a society would lose much by letting him stay here.

Lol I don’t think you’re a racist @Voltaire. And I doubt you think I am either. We just disagree on the means to fight racism, and you are unfortunately covering for racists on your side (though you don’t realize it- but you should.)

Trump, and @Maximum Overkill, and the rest of MAGA don’t want you to have an education. They want you to replace undocumented immigrants in the fields and other low paying jobs. They believe that’s the proper role for black people as this thread demonstrates. MAGA is all about proper roles for each group. Keep new immigrants out. Keep the blacks and Latinos already here in the low paying jobs. Reserve the American Dream of upward mobility for white people. This is the new Apartheid.
