It’s time we recognize who the real criminals in our society are: not the vast majority of undocumented immigrants, but the thugs at ICE, their leaders in Washington, and President Trump.

Because they think Trump will taco on the tariffs. That’s the whole ballgame. If he sticks with his plan, we will all suffer. If he backs off it won’t be as bad. But even if he backs off, the combination of what he’s already done with the tariffs, the big beautiful bill, and his disastrous immigration moves are still going to lead to a lot of unnecessary pain, whether or not a recession happens. None of it is good.

I’ve talked to some religious Christians about this. They excuse Trump’s behavior by comparing him to King David. David was a womanizer, a bad guy, committed all kinds of crap- but he was used by God to carry out HIs divine will. That’s how they see Trump. It’s crazy as sh!t.

I dunno. I’ve been adamant all along that there was nothing there (at least nothing on Trump.) But…you gotta start to wonder. Trump’s actions and statements are not those of a man who has nothing to fear. That’s actually how I felt about the Russia collusion story too. For months I never bought into it (anybody who doesn’t believe me can check my posts on the subject- some of you dudes are expert at this)- but then Trump fired Comey and he started to act really weird, obstructing justice, trying to fire Mueller, etc. Either he was guilty of something there or he’s just a crazy irrational Fock who can’t let anything go. Either is plausible. It’s the same here.

It’s gotten to the point where the left criticizes everything Israel does, and puts them on an equal level of evil with terrorists like Hamas, (or even worse defends Hamas while castigating Israel.) Meanwhile the right attempts to justify everything the Israeli government does no matter how awful, paints any and all opposing views as anti-Semitic, and collectively regards almost all Muslims as fanatical murderers. There is less and less room for thoughtful discussion on this issue.

You asked why you were being accused of “falling for it”. This is why: the semantics you’re using.

Who knows? The ones Bondi said she had on her desk? Why not just release everything they have? If it turns out to be nothing so be it. Why refuse to release it? (And before you ask why Biden didn’t release it, he should have. But he’s gone now so why isn’t Trump releasing it?)

Actually you’re not. You posted that the Grand Jury files would be released tomorrow. Trump instructed Bondi to request they be released of a judge- and only those files Bondi deems “pertinent.” There are plenty of other files related to this case that are not under seal but which Trump still refuses to release. Most likely the judge will refuse, and Trump will blame the judge, and you and the rest will buy that.

I read a book a few years back about when Harvey Weinstein threatened the news media right before his scandal broke. This sounds an awful lot like that.

I certainly don’t hate Israel. I have family there. I have friends who have served in the IDF. I’ve supported Israel my entire life. I am not, however, a supporter of Bibi or the far right coalition currently in power.

You get tagged, rightfully, whenever the subject comes up of somebody blindly believing right wing media, and authority figures whenever they are pursuing a right wing or fascist agenda, because that correctly defines you.

For almost ten years you guys have dragged out the same quote, taken out of context. Is that all you got? I challenge you instead to access Schiff’s brilliant closing speech during Trump’s first impeachment trial, in which he made the strongest of cases for Trump’s criminal action (one of so many) and see if you can refute a single point, a single sentence. I already know you can’t.

This is why I predicted the whole Epstein thing would disappear: because Trump knows that he can always offer you guys some shiny new bauble that will make you forget about it.

Jerry, given the government currently in power in Israel it’s all too easy to believe that the IDF is behaving badly at times. That’s not zealotry, it’s common sense. It doesn’t justify bad behavior on the other side (usually far worse.)
