Personally I don’t care about current polls. I base my analysis of the elections of 2026 and 2028 on the following simple factors: 1. The tariffs haven’t really kicked in yet. They will after April, and a few months after that the public will begin to feel the impact. That’s when Trump’s numbers will truly start to crash. 2. Once the tariffs start it will be very difficult to undo the damage. The pain will last us for years: higher prices for everything, an economic recession, higher unemployment. This in turn will ensure Democratic victories in 2026 and 2028. 3. The New Democrats coming in will not be to my liking. The public will be pissed off and ready to accept radical solutions. Look for leftists like AOC to win against establishment Democrats and against Republicans. This is what I think is going to happen. Keep in mind that I don’t want this to happen. While I will be glad when the MAGA movement is finally defeated, I would prefer not to have to see this country suffer pain in order to achieve that. I would much rather be wrong about the tariffs, or have Trump change his mind and not pursue the tariffs, even if it meant Republicans stay in control for the next decade. The tariffs are going to be awful for all of us. And I would rather have a somwwhat centrist Democratic Party (at least economically speaking) that is pro-business than see socialists take it over.

I’m no lawyer but this sounds like a really lame interpretation of the law to me. What foreign nation has invaded us or threatened to invade us? None. These are individuals coming here. There is a reason Trump has tried to back away from trying to use this law. It won’t fly even if you don’t get it.

I have a feeling it won’t matter who the Dems put up in 2028. They’re almost sure to win no matter who it is.

I am in Manhattan on business and I just walked by a HUGE anti-Trump protest. Lots of anti-Musk and Tesla signs. A cute little girl held up a sign which read “I am 4 years old and I am more mature than Donald Trump!” This is making me feel a lot better about America. Sometimes I read the stuff in this forum and it depresses me. I have to keep remembering there is a lot of good people out there and they’re starting to wake up. Finally.

I was upset with the media after the election but not with Kamala. She did the best she could and I wish she had won. My opinion of her hasn’t changed.

If Republicans attempt to run with your argument (Social Security was never meant to be a permanent solution) they will get destroyed in upcoming elections. Destroyed. At the very least they will lose Florida (which is basically losing the election.)

Let’s keep in mind that the Big 10 is now pretty much the Big 16 or so…UCLA, USC, Oregon… so what you have is the cream of the old PAC-10 combined with the cream of the old Big-10…

AOC has certainly become more impressive in recent months. I listened to her in Denver today and she was extremely well spoken in her opposition to Trump. I like her very much as a person would support her against any MAGA Republican for sure if those were my choices. Alas she is, however, simply too leftist for my tastes. Unless she changes her views (or unless I misunderstand them and I don’t think I do) I could never support her in a Democratic primary.

The disgusting part of what @Cdub100 wrote are not the facts he presented (which are true enough) but the conclusions he draws. He blames diversity for this problem meaning that he believes that poor grades are inherent in blacks and Hispanics. In other words racism. He doesn’t consider other factors; perhaps he is incapable of doing so. Blacks and Hispanics perform poorly due to economic and cultural reasons, not due to racial ones.

I do know that. (The Dine part.) But as I recall the Navajo weren’t especially warlike the way the Comanche were or the Sioux. But I’m going off memory- it’s been a while since I read any books on this subject (though I plan soon on reading Empire of the Summer Moon about the Comanche- it comes highly recommended.)

I don’t think they were one of the more warlike tribes so I’m not sure. But it doesn’t change the fact that they regard you (and me) as illegal. (And based on treaties solemnly agreed to by the United States government, they are 100% correct.)

My daughter is a special ed teacher. She is being told that her funding WILL be cut for next year due to this move. No specifics yet.

As much as I usually strongly disagree with you on this topic I give you credit for this post. However, your question as to why this sort of thing is being celebrated is easily answered: many of these people have a very different motivation than yours, which I have tried to tell you all along and which you angrily took umbrage with. Quite simply, the celebration is rooted in racism and white supremacy.

In my experience guys like you who go on and on about other guys’ effeminate nature, and complain about trannies and gay people, are typically extremely insecure about their own masculinity.

He’s celebrating that Trump is being prevented from violating civil rights. All reasonable people should celebrate that.
