Lots of people agree with you. I don’t. IMO Democrats need to stick to their principles . Sure they can work with Trump when there is a common goal (but Trump makes this very difficult.) But most of the time oppose him. Don’t worry about the polls.

The main reason that the Democrats are doing so poorly in polling right now is that liberals are disgusted and outraged that they don’t fight back harder against Trump, But I keep pointing out that it doesn’t matter. Democrats could be at 0% popularity and they still will have an excellent chance to win handily at the next election because (a) it will be a referendum on Donald Trump and (b) the only way to disapprove of Trump is to vote Democrat. So that’s it. The Dems could veer left and allow socialists to take control. Or they could veer right. They could regard conservatives as evil (I think @RLLD is partly right about this but he refuses to accept that it’s an element of both parties) or they could change that aspect. They can continue to support woke issues or turn away from that. None of it matters. In the end if people approve of Trump Democrats lose. If they don’t like Trump Democrats win. Long term, beyond Trump, it’s the same formula. The public will choose Democrats whenever they want a change from Republicans and Republicans when they want a change from Democrats. You guys think there is a way out of this cycle. There isn’t one. You guys think a third party might arise eventually. It won’t. The two parties are too entrenched. Sometimes outsiders might win but the only way to do so is within one of the two parties: which is why Donald Trump could get elected but Ross Perot could not.

If all of these guys are truly gang members who committed violent crimes then of course deport them. But you need to prove it. The fact that they didn’t bother makes me question whether these guys were truly guilty. If they are due process shouldn’t be difficult.

Love how conservatives are all about limiting federal power until one of theirs is President and suddenly all of their supposed principles on this subject are out the window.

“Transformational” means, among other things, lasting. For instance, Nixon went to China and our relationship with China has been changed ever since. It’s hard for me to see what exactly Trump is doing that will be lasting. All of his government cuts will be reversed when a Democrat is elected again (which will very likely be in 4 years.) He could pull us out of NATO I suppose but we’ll just join it again. Globalism is here to stay. The new tarrifs, except possibly on China, won’t last past his presidency. Wokism is here to stay. We will have more undocumented immigrants in this country when Trump leaves office than we do now. All the damage Trump is doing can easily be undone. That’s why when people accuse me of panicking about this stuff it amuses me. It’s fun to comment on and laugh at some of you but none of this is permanent.

The guy is an attention wh0re and you dudes put him in the one position where he literally can make news every hour of the day. Personally I would love to have a President again who didn’t always make news, who basically governed by leaving everything alone. “Sleepy Joe” was an attractive nickname to me.

Just as in his first term: Trump tweets something outrageous in the middle of the night, which will never fly. His opponents go crazy, his defenders love it (mostly to troll the libs.) In the end it means nothing. The pardons aren’t going to be overturned. Trump Will ultimately be judged not by any of this crap he says, but by what happens.

Meal was done a while back, and I always enjoy laughing at you. You’re easily the dumbest poster in this forum, which is quite the challenge given the competition, yet somehow you seem to win every time. It’s so easy to make fun of you but still enjoyable. I’m probably an awful person I guess.

Here is a prediction: despite their “disarray” the Democrats will do extremely well in 2026, winning the House easily and challenging for control of the Senate. And yes I realize I got the last election wrong. But I am a broken clock and this time I will be right, wait and see.

Because they’re right: Climate change, Covid, transgender, vaccines- conservatives shun science continually. It’s really sad and scary.

Loving this thread. I’m in Calistoga, beautiful little town in Napa Valley. Just saw this sign in a store window: “In This House We Believe: Black Lives Matter Women’s Rights are Human Rights No Person is Illegal Science Is Real Love is Love Kindness Is Everything” So good. Encapsulates my thinking. A thousand Trumps couldn’t defeat us.
