This is illogical, doesn’t always apply to all laws (a jaywalker isn’t forced to return across the street; he is simply handed a ticket), and society doesn’t enforce all of our laws; we couldn’t survive if we did. But none of that matters. What matters is this: we cannot deport 10-15 million people. It’s asinine to think we can. It’s disastrous to try, as we’re learning. So we had better come up with another solution.

And it was. Many folks in this forum have been very clear: they want all 10-15 million undocumented people here rounded up and deported and they don’t care about the consequences to our society. That has been their position all along. My view is that it’s irrational, impossible, and I predicted that even the attempt to try it (as we’re currently witnessing) would result in calamity. I wish it had stayed a prediction instead of the sad reality, but here we are.

I think it’s wise to be skeptical of all Thunberg claims. Like many before her she seems to be determined to be a martyr for her causes.

Because the punishment is worse than the harm caused by the crime. Much better for our society to simply fine them and allow them a probationary path to stay here and contribute.

I was a never a fan. And I was highly critical of Obama for deporting non-violent criminals. But though I disapproved of ICE in the past I never condemned them previously for using evil, Gestapo like tactics. That’s new, and unique to the second Trump term. What they’re doing currently is morally wrong, anti-American, and disgusting. If you support their actions then you’re behaving in an unpatriotic, immoral fashion and hopefully someday you will learn to be ashamed of it.

I certainly don’t believe Latinos are the same. For example a majority of Cuban Americans will likely continue to vote for Republicans no matter what, as a result of their history and the American left’s moronic support for the evil regime of Fidel Castro. But the polls show the vast majority of Latinos, including Cuban Americans, are opposed to mass deportation. That’s not me speaking for them. That’s the evidence that we have. It’s not decisive evidence but it is rather overwhelming. Decisive evidence will be next years elections.

After Trump lost the California vote by a lot in 2016, which caused him to lose the popular vote overall, he launched an inquiry on illegal voting in our state. They found absolutely nothing. So no this is not a matter of disagreement. There is simply no evidence to support your claim. If you can present some I will change my views. You should be proud of your family and your heritage. I suspect that on most issues you understand and support American values. But if you are good with what ICE is currently doing then I believe you have gone far astray on this one.
