LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
The Real timschochet replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I don’t remember this. What you wrote here is grossly inaccurate. -
Cutting employment without a careful examination of what is and what is not essential strikes me as the opposite of efficiency.
-
This would actually be a reasonable argument- IF the number wasn’t listed beforehand. A normal way to cut waste would be “we looked carefully at the organization and determined there were 50,000 jobs that are wasteful.” Thats what companies do all the time. But when you determine to cut 80,000 jobs BEFORE you examine which are wasteful then you’re guaranteeing you’re going to cut some essential services. And it also forces any reasonable person to reach the conclusion that many already have: that DOGE isn’t really about cutting waste.
-
You don’t know this. And I would say it’s unlikely.
-
Again, it’s the speed of the cuts. You can’t tell me that they carefully examined which jobs were vital and which weren’t. They didn’t have the time. And in any case they’re not even claiming this.
-
The common viewpoint seems to be: 1. If there’s waste, get rid of it. 2. Don’t cut spending that will actually hurt our veterans or make things more difficult for them. I don’t think there’s a person here that disagrees with either of these two points; at least I hope not. My problem with DOGE thus far is that it’s too speedy and not careful. I think that inevitably leads to the 2nd point without doing much about the first. If you’re going to make cuts, you should first carefully examine the current state of affairs and decide where the waste is. That process could take some time but it’s worth it IMO. DOGE isn’t do this.

I don’t believe this is true; I’ve read stuff that has asserted the exact opposite. But even if it is true, it’s none of our business anyhow. Leave these folks alone to do what they want, and stop demonizing them. How about that? -
Supreme Court rules that Trump cannot stop foreign aid
The Real timschochet replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Pretty sure that was a lie. Most of the stuff that Trump said last night about spending were lies. -
Once again, the truth is exactly the opposite of your assertion: https://www.cato.org/blog/why-do-illegal-immigrants-have-low-crime-rate-twelve-possible-explanations

LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
The Real timschochet replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Lol what you mean is that he’s 75 steps behind what he decided to do the day before. -
I’m not going to return the favor and call you a liar. What I will say is that, as a general rule, 99% of what you post is the exact opposite of reality.
-
Actually it’s the opposite (as usual): that Sanctuary city hearing today was an embarrassment for Republicans. They came across as idiots. (Tom Holman too who wasn’t there.) The mayors of the cities in question came across as pretty heroic.

So the good news is Trump is suspending the tariffs on the big 3 auto companies. This is at least a start. The stock market is rebounding somewhat due to this news. -
The only folks who learned anything are the ones who hung around for the fact checking afterwards.
-
I don’t know why you are so obsessed with me that you take the time to do this. You haven’t contradicted me. I didn’t lie.
-
I predicted she’d win. I hoped she would. I don’t think I ever gave her more than a 55% chance or so of winning. That’s not “absolutely confident.” And it’s not a lie. Whatever. In any case I was wrong. In time you’ll come to wish I hadn’t been.

You’re right about the first 3 things but no matter how expensive things get he will always find money for searching out trannies. It’s become his life’s sole purpose. -

The Democrats (and most Republicans and libertarians and independents and 99% of economists) are not lying about tariffs. You haven’t offered a single example of this nor will you be able to because there isn’t one. Trump is the only one lying about tariffs. I cannot agree to disagree with you on the “Biden model for ignoring SCOTUS”. There’s only one set of facts. Biden didn’t ignore SCOTUS. This isn’t a debatable issue, it’s not nuanced. He didn’t do it. -
Supreme Court rules that Trump cannot stop foreign aid
The Real timschochet replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
There’s no stealing. We elected leaders who voted to give foreign aid because it benefits us to do so. With every dollar we spend on foreign aid we actually get richer. It’s an investment to stabilize other countries, to make them our allies, to create marketplaces for our goods. We lose nothing and gain the world. We will never default. You’re right that the debt is crippling, but the only way to get rid of it is grow our way out of it. The only way to do that is more trade, which requires a stable global economy. Foreign aid is a must. -

The Real timschochet replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Again nonsensical. Democrats don’t ignore SC rulings. Even if they did that wouldn’t justify Trump doing it. Second there has been no lying about tariffs. They harm America. The amount of harm is directly equal to the amount of the tariffs. They are an unnecessary tax on the consumer, an interference with capitalism which produces all wealth in our society. Nobody has tried to mislead you on this, -
Remember when the liberals were trying to tell us that Trump has dementia?
The Real timschochet replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
No I think he’s the same a$$hole he was when he was 30. Not crazy, not evil, just a mean spirited incompetent fool and an awful awful person. -

That won’t help him or @jbycho or the other trolls in this forum. They’re not interested in knowledge. -

No he isn’t and in any case you’re incapable of making that judgment. You’ve never shown the ability to define any issue beyond “Trump is right and the libs are wrong.” Nobody expects you to go any deeper than that so carry on.
