    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

So- if you a conservative arguing as to why the Republican Party is preferable to the Democratic Party, feel free to bring up immigration or woke issues, or handling of foreign affairs, whatever you want. I will likely disagree with you on this stuff but at least we can determine where we disagree. But don’t bring up the national debt. Because it’s crap. Let’s acknowledge right now that on this issue there is no discernible difference between the two parties.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

And again when I say Democrats I am speaking of the politicians.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

Of course Democrats don’t care about the debt. But they don’t pretend to.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

If I had wanted to lump people together I would have used the word “conservatives” rather than Republicans. By using Republicans I am using shorthand for Republican politicians. Can’t believe I have to even explain that.

    Swalwell questioning of Noem

She wasn’t great. She refused to explain why she is ignoring the orders of the court and why she didn’t grant due process in the first place. That’s not protecting us, just the opposite. Look, YOU may be willing to accept having a Gestapo run things here in order to get rid of undocumented immigrants that you believe to be dangerous. I’m not. The ends don’t justify the means.
  7. His description of the Trunp administration was very accurate. No exaggeration or overshoot involved.
  8. And he gives generously. What an idiotic thing to write. Awesome of the TRUE Boss to call out the fake one.
  9. Trump is such an embarrassment. Years from now 99% of the people here will pretend he never existed. Including you.

    Swalwell questioning of Noem

It wasn’t just Swalwell. She was torn to shreds today. She looked ridiculous and completely incompetent.

    War in Israel

I know these arguments like the back of my hand; I’ve heard them, in one form or another, my entire life. If we were a short time away from Hamas being eliminated I could perhaps go along with you. It would then be like Berlin or Tokyo in 1945: But there is no evidence that this is the case. And children are dying, they are starving to death. If this is about Israel’s future security then it seems to me that they are creating a new generation that will hate them even more than before. I don’t think this bodes well. But regardless of all that, regardless of all your arguments, it’s immoral to starve children. There’s no getting around that. Feed the children. If that means Hamas gets to survive another day, so be it.
  12. Thanks for the response. I am for getting rid of the violent criminals and the gangbangers. I am not for getting rid of the “hurdles” if that means skirting due process. I guess that’s where we differ.
  13. I really do know that most of you here don’t subscribe to his bullsh!t. That being said, even wanting to deport every undocumented immigrant is an extremist position. Just as my call for open immigration is also an extremist position- I get that. Neither position is workable. Reasonable people should be able to come up with some compromise.
  14. See now that one I enjoyed.
  15. I noticed that, in your long insulting screed, you failed to answer the question. I’m often amused by your continual insults whenever you reply to me. Sometimes they’re smartly written and I enjoy those the most. Other times they’re patronizing and filled with pomposity. But I gotta tell ya, if your purpose is to make me feel bad about myself or stupid or whatever, it ain’t working.
  16. The biggest problem for tourism is the Canadian boycott, which is imitated by many Europeans.
  17. The question wasn’t meant for you. You’ve made yourself quite clear already.

    War in Israel

I don’t see the connection. I don’t think Israel should prevent food from coming in to starving people in Gaza. I’m not talking about weapons or even money sent to Hamas. I’m talking about food. I don’t think this is a good look.
  19. Not even Trump is this stupid. Aint happening.
  20. Voltaire despite my many strong disagreements with you I think you know I regard you as a smart guy with great integrity. So let me ask you: Do you truly believe that the millions of undocumented people here who have NOT committed any violent crimes should be forcibly rounded up and deported? Even including those who came here as young children, or those who have served in our armed forces?
  21. The federalism issue makes sense to me and I would dismiss the case based on this argument (but I am a layman.) The immunity argument does NOT make sense to me. In fact it actually troubles me. Though I don’t think Hannah Dugan is guilty of any crime, theoretically a judge COULD commit a crime, and therefore blanket immunity should not apply. (I felt the same way when the Supreme Court recently gave Trump and all future Presidents blanket immunity.)
  22. Really cheering news this morning (for those of us who have always been opposed to this policy): https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-approval-rating-polls-2071579 Support for mass deportations as a top priority has dropped to 35%. https://theimmigrationhub.org/article/voters-overwhelming-support-pathway-to-citizenship-over-mass-deportation/ The American public supports a “pathway to citizenship” for undocumented immigrants over mass deportation. Everyone wants the violent criminals gone, no question about that. But when we’re talking about the hard working vast majority of undocumented immigrants, or detaining somebody’s abuela, the public doesn’t like it. They may have thought they wanted it but now they clearly don’t, and the more Trump and the ICE thugs push it, looks like the more unpopular it’s going to get.
  23. I actually like what Trump is doing with regard to Syria and also now with Iran (though I don’t think any deal he reaches with Iran will be as good as the Obama one he tore apart.) Nonetheless this is the one part of Trump I like: the deal maker who is eager to avoid wars. More of this guy please.
  24. It wasn’t. And I don’t agree with you either.
  25. Curious as to how many people in this forum agree with this lunatic.
