A libertarian is, by definition, pro-choice, pro-free trade (no tariffs whatsoever) and open immigration, documents or not. If you’re not in favor of these things then you’re not a libertarian no matter what you call yourself.

Neither America nor Americans. MAGA ideas. I thought it was pretty clear. I don’t find people, any people, to be un-American. But certain ideas are: Communism, fascism, socialism. And MAGA: anti-immigration, isolationism, xenophobia. I don’t think these ideas jibe with the ideals of our Founders. iMO. And when I speak of making war on an idea, I mean defeating it with democracy (voting its promoters out of office) and with better ideas. I don’t believe in “violent or final action” using your words. Frankly it was silly of you to try to apply them to me.

Most of the independents who secured his election already have buyers remorse. MAGA has always been a minority, and America SHOULD absolutely make war on their ideas. As they are un-American.

I remain an optimist and think that the Court will reject Trump’s argument by a vote of 7-2.

I can’t really argue with you but damn he’s got a lot of competition in this forum doesn’t he? For example the guy who started the thread. And so many others around here. It’s really a tight race.

Look everyone is different with regards to this forum. I like to use it to state my opinion, and offer thoughtful conversation and debate if I can. You like to use it to insult people and otherwise display a truly stunning amount of ignorance. To each their own.

I o my meant that I am not 100% sure about this particular aspect of what is a very large bill. But I offered my reasons for thinking as I do. I would challenge you to refute them but I already know you’re not capable of it.

I don’t know, at this time, what the truth is. But I am highly skeptical that you’re correct for a couple of reasons: first because many conservative politicians, including Josh Hawley and RonJohnson, warned that millions of deserving legal Americans would be kicked off Medicare rolls if this passed, before reluctantly voting for it anyhow. Why would they have parroted liberal propaganda designed, in your estimation, to defeat Republicans in 2026? That makes no sense. Second, removing undocumented and “underserving” people from Medicare doesn’t save the money Republicans required here. It’s that simple. The math doesn’t add up. (For the sake of honesty I need to add here that even if you were 100% right I personally would not be OK with this since I am very much opposed to removing undocumented people from Medicare. But I get that this is not a popular view particularly in this forum.)

This is why in the end my side will win. The American public will only tolerate xenophobia and bigotry in small bunches; eventually they always reject it.

And reverse it bit by bit. That’s going to happen. The American people don’t want this. All of Trump’s idiotic cuts, we’ll bring all of them back.

Democrats can’t complain. They lost the election. Next time do a better job. I think they will though. Winning in 2026 should be a slam dunk (though if anyone can blow it, Dems can.)
