  1. I said they interfered with her courtroom. I never said they entered it. They interfered by waiting outside preparing to arrest him, because that puts a damper on proceedings inside the courtroom. This is why the federalism argument is brought up. This is why so many jurists think it was both illegal and improper, despite your assurance otherwise.
  2. And “egregious” is not the same as illegal. Dugan’s actions were egregious to McCarthy (not to me.) Nonetheless he disapproves of her indictment and predicts she’ll be acquitted. Which is why I linked him. I could just as easily have linked articles by the ACLU, or Andrew Weissman, or dozens of liberal attorneys predicting the same, but if I had done that, most of you here would have ignored it and accused me of bias. I don’t think you can ignore McCarthy.
  3. I read the whole thing. And your imtepretation is off. It’s not “lawyer things”, it’s federalism. But let’s get back to your initial question which is whether or not I support breaking the law in this instance. I do not. In certain instances I do. But in this case I don’t believe she broke the law.
  4. Wrong again, the ACLI is actively trying to get him out of federal custody. Whether they succeed is another matter. But that has no bearing on ICE’s illegal interference in a state courtroom. Do you believe in federalism? That’s the basis of McCarthy’s argument. Like you he is a fan of mass deportation and has no love for liberal judges like Dugan. Even so he’s got a problem with ICE interrupting her court proceedings to make an arrest. Because federalism. Do you have a problem with this?
  5. According to whom? ICE? Not according to what I’m reading, and what I’ve linked.
  6. lol it doesn’t change anything. This was always going to be a sham prosecution from the start, designed for show and intimidation. It won’t fly. Here’s more legal analysis as to why it’s extremely weak: https://www.dynamisllp.com/knowledge/arrest-judge-dugan-strategies-and-defenses I advise you to read this one extremely carefully, particularly how the ICE agent screwed up trying to make the arrest and ignoring due process rules (seems to be a pattern, doesn’t it?) That way when she is easily acquitted you won’t be too disappointed.
  7. Nope. Not at all. Here is Andrew McCarthy of National Review, a strong conservative and NOT a fan of Hannah Dugan, nonetheless offering up a defense of her actions: https://www.nationalreview.com/2025/04/as-a-trump-doj-should-know-judge-dugan-has-a-defense/amp/
  8. Here is the letter for anyone who missed it.
  9. Please read the letter I posted from over a hundred respected jurists and legal scholars demanding an end to this sham. It spells it out much better than I could.
  10. Screw that, you don’t care sh!t about the law. These ICE thugs are pissing all over the U.S. Constitution and due process and you defend them. And now they’re trying to intimidate any judge who stands against them. If this holds up there won’t be any law in this country. Which is why it won’t.

Jasmine Crockett tells it like it is

She is BRINGING IT! This woman is quickly becoming my favorite Congresswoman.
  12. The indictment itself is already a huge disgrace, a major stain on the Trump Department of Justice. It’s an attempt to intimidate our independent judicial system. https://cfce73f5-6016-42c8-9343-fa96f8863f56.usrfiles.com/ugd/cfce73_cce5d7a9c0b84eb2b4f919b12c901e7e.pdf
  13. Here’s what I wrote: she will not be disbarred, she will not serve any jail time. This is all for show. I stand by it. And you guys better hope I’m right because if I’m wrong then we’re really focked as a nation.
  14. I don’t understand why they can’t admit that their views on this are unpopular. Happens to me all the time. But some of these guys have trouble acknowledging it.
  15. But they’re not the ones running the poll. They’re reporting the poll, but it’s easy enough to check their work. And of course I read Immigration Hub because I very much agree with their philosophy. That doesn’t mean what they report as fact is not accurate.

Pete Rose, 'Shoeless' Joe Jackson among players reinstated by MLB

    Say it ain’t so Joe!
  17. Well this would make sense except for that second poll that stated that a majority of the public prefers a path to citizenship to Mass deportation. Of course you’ll reject that poll, but that leaves you with accepting the polls you like and rejecting the ones you don’t like.

UK's Keir Starmer vows to end "failed experiment" with open borders

No. I’m not going to get into a discussion of my background and what led into my current situation. But what you and @Strike think is not accurate. That’s all.
  19. I think you’re being very simplistic here and really ignoring the amount of time, effort and technique most of these polling firms put in, not to mention their integrity. I think you’re overly dismissive.
  20. I think most Americans approve of the increased tightness at the border and that’s the main thing they wanted. But they don’t appear to approve of the mass deportations.
  21. Of course there is bias. But they’re using polls to prove their point, and that’s at least SUPPOSED to be objective. Unlike @supermike80 I generally believe in polling. It’s not always right but it usually is. When polls showed, a few months back, that most Americans supported mass deportation I accepted that. I figured I was in the minority. On the overall issue of immigration I AM in the minority and always will be- I get that. But it’s nice to see a change on this particular issue, at least IMO.

I’m sure you can. People are intolerant. Fearful. Some are racist. These are realities we all have to deal with. Human beings can be ugly. That doesn’t mean, however, that we need to change our ideals. I believe that ultimately a multicultural society is preferable to a non multicultural society. At least put it this way: if we are to survive as a species, it had better be.

Lol the description of me as a “nepobaby” isn’t accurate, but in any event what I wrote you about our state isn’t based on my own personal experience. Again, I have no argument with your critiques. But you seem to think they define us. That’s where we differ.

Australia, Israel, the United Kingdom off the top of my head. There are probably more.

To answer your question: yes I do. We certainly have many problems here and you’ve stated some of them quite succinctly. Yet despite all those problems we remain the richest state, the 5th largest economy on Earth. I would argue that the good easily outweighs the bad.
