Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

Why don’t you guys just admit this is all about the racial makeup of the country? You’re afraid it’s getting browner.

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

It’s inevitable no matter what. At the end of Trump’s term there will be more undocumented immigrants than when you started. As for Mexico: the state I live in, California, was stolen from Mexico, as was Texas, Arizona, New Mexico. The southwest of the USA has always had open migration because, frankly, those of Mexican descent have as much right to be here as we do.

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

It isn’t. Unless you’re willing to throw open legal immigration to most of those from our southern border who want to come here, undocumented immigration is inevitable and a net positive.

    Texas flooding terrible, tragic

A better idea is to properly fund federal rescue services and stop cutting their budgets.

    That’s simply not true.

Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

And yet you can’t say it’s not well-deserved.

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

If carried out to any large degree, mass deportation will raise prices on literally every aspect of our lives, from homes to the supermarket to dining out- every aspect. Violent crime will actually increase not decrease (violent crime goes up statistically whenever the economy gets worse.) There is no positive to mass deportation. None.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

I only ask because once again, just like every other time they are in power, despite warning us (correctly) that our current level of national debt is unsustainable and will eventually lead us to a catastrophe…they are voting to increase it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/05/15/gop-tax-deficit-bill/ Trump’s new “beautiful bill” will increase the debt by 2.5 trillion over the next 10 years. So do they REALLY care?

Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

Trump on Saturday: MAGA just forget about this conspiracy theory, there’s nothing there, concentrate on other conspiracy theories! (Like the stolen 2020 election.) Personally I am always highly skeptical of conspiracies and my strong hunch (that’s all it is) is that Pam Bondi is telling the truth: there’s no actual client list, there’s nothing there. Epstein killed himself. But Trump and his allies helped foster the theory that there was more there in order to energize the MAGA base before the 2024 election, so if they don’t believe him they have only themselves to blame. Bur still, I have to ask: of all the times that Trump has told outright lies, made bigoted, offensive comments, committed crimes against the country, attempted to divide us and do harm, shown incompetence and schemed for authoritarian power, and shattered our image as a nation, THIS is the issue that might turn MAGA against him? How embarrassing for them.
  10. Funny, for once I am 100% with @seafoam1. (It may be the first and last time.) But while someone is President any serious health concerns should be public knowledge or at the very least the knowledge of the leaders of the Senate. It should be noted though that this has NOT been the case in history: the health concerns of FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, Reagan, and Biden were all hidden from the Senate and the public.
  11. Because it’s essentially a victimless crime and deportation is too high a penalty. Let the children stay, let the parents pay a small fine for their crime, and let them stay as well. Problem solved.
  12. Orphanages, foster care, child protective services, adoption. Before anyone complains about the costs, cut the new ICE budget in half, spend the money on Child Protective Services instead.
  13. I was very clear. Please stop avoiding the question.
  14. Everyone who? Every child who arrives on our shores without family? Yes In good with it.

They put themselves in danger by committing crimes.

You seem to believe that it’s a worthy trade-off for ICE to act inhumanly if it means keeping more people out. I’m not OK with that trade.
  17. It’s actually very simple: should we, the taxpayers, fund taking care of these children, allowing them to stay and grow up in this country with decent shelter, food, eduction and medical care, all paid for at our expense, through adulthood when they become citizens? For me the answer is a simple, straightforward yes. What is your answer?
  18. If that is the case then no. But are you willing to keep the children here? Yes or no? If no stop pretending you care about them.
  19. Oh I get it. So rescue the kids and keep them here. Are you willing to do that?

L.A. and nationwide ICE raids/protests thread

What justice? More like obstruction of injustice. It was ICE attempting to commit the crime here.

Actually I do care. If they would stop rounding up non violent criminals, stop acting like thugs, stop wearing masks, they could return to be the respectable police force they were a few years ago and would be treated accordingly.
  22. They’re disgusting. Strike, Hardcore, the rest. They appear to have no humanity.
  23. No YOU make up your mind; if you care about these children let them stay here- with their parents if they’re around, without their parents if they’re not around. Unless you’re willing to do that stop pretending you give a damn about them.
  24. The empathy is completely, and only, with liberals regarding this issue. If you had any empathy you would let these children stay here. And if there are parents let them stay too. Stop deporting people.

It’s more fascinating that like so many others around here you challenge the source of any news you don’t want to hear.
