The DFL Democratic-Farmer-Labor party (or as I like to call it..the dumb for life party) happened. You mentioned country. That's the dirty little secret. While many farmers in the state claim to be conservative, since they're included in the party title, they're coddled by that party. So enough of them vote DFL to keep a small majority. Minneapolis/St Paul being very progressive certainly doesn't help matters, as those 2 account for 60% of the states population. Another result of the state moving further left, is that not all, but many a republican from Minnesota, could easily be mistaken for a Democrat in a significant number of other/surrounding states. I could go on, but why bother. I think it's over. The presidential election this fall will be telling. From 1932 onward, the state has primarily voted Democratic, last voting Republican during Nixon's landslide victory in 1972. Outside of Washington, D.C., it is the longest Democratic streak in the country. In 1984, Minnesotans gave homegrown Senator Mondale his only state in the lopsided loss to Ronald Reagan. I don't expect Trump to win the state, but if he can keep it somewhat close, I'd consider it a ray of hope.

We're certainly strong here in Minnesota, with one of every 3 Somali that comes to the US ending up here. They almost constantly prove that Minnesota is the most gullible state in the nation. Massive daycare fraud in 2016, Nonprofit Feeding Our Future and 200+ Meal Sites in Minnesota Perpetrated the Largest COVID-19 Fraud Scheme in the Nation (Direct quote from the US Department of Justice website) & today, we found out those people have been defrauding the state Medicaid program. How does this continue to happen ? The state Attorney General is a Muslim. Keith Ellison.

I tell them it has a wide range of subjects, & it's not for the ultra sensitive, because the moderators let most everything go. (the way it should be) -
I wanted to leave that tag to you, but the thread was already 9 hours old so I figured WTF.

Not that I wish it to happen (that would make me a monster) but I think the only thing that would wake up some of these people, is if it happened to someone they loved. -

And there it is. A group of New Yorkers who recognized the suspect in a horrific rape of a 13-year-old took him down and held him until police arrived around 1 a.m. Tuesday, cellphone video shows. Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, a 25-year-old from Ecuador, entered the country illegally in 2021 near Eagle Pass, Texas, police said. -
Wouldn't be surprised.

It sure is. If he gets caught, what are the odds he's an illegal ? Has to be at least 50/50 The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, around 5’ 5" in his 20s with curly hair, last seen wearing red sneakers and carrying a green backpack. He appeared to have dental braces on his teeth and had a tattoo of a boar or a bull with red eyes on his chest. -
Oakland County Sheriff’s spokesperson Stephen Huber said the shooter was 42-year-old Michael William Nash of Shelby Township. Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Saturday evening that the gunman had no prior criminal history but apparently suffered privately from what the sheriff called “mental health challenges.” “It’s our understanding that he was undergoing some mental health challenges, but no one that we know of was notified,” Bouchard said during an evening news conference.

I bought SOXL in my taxable, IRA, & HSA accounts mid 2022 through early 2023. Incredible returns, but only because I was lucky enough to buy near the lows. The Fund seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 300% of the daily performance of the ICE Semiconductor Index. The Index is a rules-based, modified float-adjusted market capitalization-weighted index that tracks the performance of the thirty largest US listed semiconductor companies. https://stockanalysis.com/etf/soxl/ Fidelity Select Semiconductors (FSELX) is a less volatile way to play the semiconductor sector.

Agree that talk is cheap, & everything else you mentioned there. It's just that it's hard to address an issue when it's brought to light and people like Barney Frank & others insisted everything was fine. The seeds for the meltdown were planted decades earlier. This is the best article I've ever read on the subject. https://www.backwoodshome.com/the-meltdown-and-the-bailout-why-how-and-what-they-mean/
