Social Security In 1938, A Treasury Department Tax Ruling stated that SS benefits will be explicitly excluded from federal income taxation. In 1982, this happened. You will pay federal income taxes on your benefits if your combined income (50% of your benefit amount plus any other earned income) exceeds $25,000/year filing individually or $32,000/year filing jointly. You can pay the IRS directly or have taxes withheld from your payment. The developmentally disabled dip **** currently residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC voted in favor. 10 years later, in 1992, this happened. With combined income above $34,000 (single) or above $44,000 (joint filing), up to 85% of benefits can be taxed. Congress approved this in 1992 & that same POS voted in favor. The fact that they went against the earlier treasury department ruling regarding taxation, is bad enough, the fact they never raised those income levels to adjust for inflation is unforgivable. I haven't been able to find a $ figure regarding how much this costs SS recipients in the form of lower payments every year, but I'd be willing to bet it's far more than 100 million. To put that in perspective. Biden believes singles making up to 125K, & couples up to 250K, with student loan debt, deserve a huge tax break/loan forgiveness, but a retired couple with income over $44,000 should pay taxes on up to 85% of their SS benefits. The moral of the story, they're all parasites in their own way.

People sinning in Sin City. Shocking He's worth 50 million, so the fact that he was only sentenced to probation isn't.

We can all agree kids (under 18) shouldn’t get married right?
easilyscan replied to TimHauck's topic in The Geek Club
In a case like that, the closest I can come to giving an answer is to say that if the parents were OK with it, fine by me. I'd respect the hell out of him for taking the chance of losing/giving his life fighting for his country. The contradiction is that all 50 states say he's still 3 years away from being mature enough to make the decision to smoke a cigarette, or have a drink because his brain isn't fully developed yet. -

All 50 states require one to be 21 to purchase alcohol or tobacco. Pretty sure that was 18 in most states until sometime in the early 80s. If they're going to tell us the brain doesn't fully develop until age 21, I don't think you should be able to get married 'under' age 18. -
Nothing personal & rest in peace, but I never cared for Matthew Perry.

Trump’s New Company, net-worth balloons to $6.4B

The price/sales ratio is one of the things an investor can look at to see if a stock is over/undervalued. You get that ratio by taking the company's current market capitalization (what all outstanding shares are worth) and dividing it by the previous 12 months sales/revenues. A large tech company like Google is selling at 6.5 x sales. A mature conglomerate like Honeywell is at 3.4 x and one of Wall Street highest flyers over the past couple years Nvidia is at 36 x Nvidia is trading at that elevated PS ratio because people are expecting huge growth related to AI going forward. DJT is selling @ 1,586.03 x sales Don't invest more than you can afford to lose. -

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

A tip of my hat to the Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT team sniper. -
The first sentence nails it. I wouldn't want to do it myself, but the dog was a problem, & she did what was necessary, & did it as humanely as possible. If a story came out saying she let her pets live in deplorable conditions such as starving them, no grooming, etc. then I'd be upset.

He could've avoided being on the ground with a knee on his back, by complying & exiting the building with LE.
