High-rise installer on one of the largest bridges in the world, the Harbour Bridge, Sydney, 1971. About 15 years later, he would become very famous. https://www.imagebam.com/view/ME13KTNP

I have to reset the odometer every time I leave. No idea why? If I got back home & the miles were going to end up on something like 16.6 I'd intentionally put on an extra 10th of a mile to make sure it didn't. Superstitious. Also have to double check that the refrigerator doors are closed & all the burners on the stove are off at least once b4 going to bed.

Yard work for about 2.5 hours, then happy hour with friends & family. Locally made smoked summer sausage, cheese, crackers, etc.

I made $1,000 flipping eBay stuff in 4 weeks.

You're right, it was 20 K & I really didn't have a problem with them lowering it, but to bring it all the way down to $600 C'mon man, I'm sure most garage sales take in more than that! What next, will IRS agents be roaming the streets during garage sale time in the spring forcing people to report their sales. There's no doubt in my mind, the CPA lobby was responsible for pressuring the IRS to implement these new limits. I got into a debate with some guy at another forum a year or 2 ago. He was totally in favor, but he wasn't satisfied with the $600 figure. He thought that every sale should have to be reported to the IRS. I gave him a hypothetical situation. Let's say you were into high-end audio back in the early 80s & bought a top of the line Bang and Olufsen system for 3K in 1985 30 years later, in 2015, you had a garage sale and someone offered you 5K for the system & you accepted. Would you report that 2k in gains to the IRS ? He said he would, and I simply said I didn't believe it. Shortly after, they kicked me out of the forum. -

That's great, but it would also explain this. https://thehill.com/opinion/congress-blog/3993213-the-imploding-us-postal-service-bailout/

Congrats on flipping those items for a nice profit. Regarding the 1099, I think that changes next year. The IRS implemented a phased approach to the $600 reporting threshold for online marketplaces like eBay . The thresholds are: 2024: $5,000 in gross payments. 2025: $2,500 in gross payments. 2026 and after: $600 in gross payments. This means that starting in 2026, if you receive $600 or more in payments through eBay, the platform will be required to issue a Form 1099-K to you and the IRS. Note that this reporting threshold was initially set at $600 by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, but the IRS delayed its implementation to allow for a smoother transition. -
The irony is that he was probably right when he said those that came to the day games were mostly scumbags. Back then it was affordable for a loser with no job to go to a game, today, not so much.

Love this! Before watching the video, I considered countering with a press conference rant from Jerry Burns, Minnesota Vikings coach from the mid to late 80s. But this is on a whole different stratosphere!

Interesting post. I especially like sentence #3. If it means what I think it means, I believe far too many Americans are unaware of what could happen down the road. On a totally unrelated note, how about Nvidia ? 1st company with a market cap of $4 trillion. It almost literally boggles one's mind. A company with around 150 billion in annual revenues, valued @ 4 thousand billion $

Not that anyone cares, but it was the actor who played lurch on the Addams family. Here's something easier on the eyes......18 year old Penélope Cruz in 1992 https://www.imagebam.com/view/ME13IM02

Just a matter of time I suppose. Some years ago, HBO was planning a documentary called Little Mogadishu.

Flyer who went viral after refusing to give seat to crying child sues airline, passenger who filmed her

Thank God for that! The fact that up until this point, no one has suggested that a firm/hard open hand slap to the behind would've convinced the spoiled little brat that he can't always get what he wants, is a perfect example of how soft we've become in America. Especially when it comes to children. The only way I'd feel differently about a story like this, is if the kid was certified as autistic. -
They'll end up like grizzly man and his girlfriend.

Glad you enjoyed it. I recommend you watch it ASAP. Another great part of the movie is when the main couple suddenly become convinced that gluten is pure evil! -

Dem lawmakers say their voters are threatening 'blood' and 'violence' over inability to hinder Trump

He may lie more often than the average politician, but they all do it. Whether you choose to call them illegal aliens, undocumented, migrant workers, whatever the case may be, they are all criminals even if they haven't committed additional crimes while they're here. -

Chicago's bloody July Fourth weekend leaves 55 shot, 6 dead
easilyscan replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Not necessarily a bad idea. With zero police presence, eventually, all the thugs would be dead & the city could begin anew. -

Here's an idea. Go after the left mouthpieces who are/have been inciting the mob, many of which are already mentally ill. Yeah, I'm talking about Rachel Maddow & company. June 2024 Rachel Maddow said she is “worried” that Donald Trump returning to the presidency could mean she might wind up in “camps” intended to house illegal immigrants. The MSNBC primetime host told CNN on Monday that she was “worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.'” Maddow added: “For that matter, what convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us.” -
Eerily similar story 38 years earlier.
