Tip Of The Iceberg Relating To Medicaid Fraud ?
easilyscan replied to easilyscan's topic in The Geek Club
This makes a lot of sense. The good news is they do seem to be going after and punishing those providers who are committing the fraud. (See Link) The bad news is what you mentioned in the last half of your last sentence. If that's true, it's very unfortunate. https://ccf.georgetown.edu/2025/01/10/the-truth-about-fraud-against-medicaid/ -

Tip Of The Iceberg Relating To Medicaid Fraud ?
easilyscan replied to easilyscan's topic in The Geek Club
Not millions, but enough to merit further investigation. While it's technically impossible to be enrolled in Medicaid in multiple states simultaneously, bureaucratic delays in updating eligibility when people relocate can lead to situations where multiple states are paying for the same person's benefits. In 2019 and 2020, a significant number of people were concurrently enrolled in two states, with over 208,000 beneficiaries in August 2019 and over 327,000 in August 2020, incurring substantial costs. -
Google was one of the few bright spots in my portfolio today. Food shares like ConAgra and Kraft-Heinz continue to crater. My fault for not buying Mondelez instead of bottom fishing those 2 late last year. Live and learn.

To be honest, I'd rather not know. Just glad this administration is at least making an effort to go after it. -
I honestly felt sorry for him when I saw him in a TBS sitcom called clipped around 2015. Played a gay barber and his husband was a black meter maid. It was so bad, it only lasted two months. You deserved better George. Rest In Peace

Tip Of The Iceberg Relating To Medicaid Fraud ?

Saw a clip from a news conference with President Trump yesterday, think it was on Gutfeld. The first reporter immediately asked why Trump was going after Social Security & Medicare/Medicaid ? He replied we're going after fraud in those programs, not looking to end any of them. Are these people genuinely stupid, or just asking questions like that to play down to the low information crowd ? -

The people who pay the highest taxes, get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Most Democrats have never been able to grasp this. They simply cannot stand the thought of certain people keeping more of their own money. Not exactly related, but it reminded me of this dip shite DFL'er from Minnesota crying because Republicans in the state are trying to prevent illegal aliens from partaking in state funded/subsidized healthcare. Look at the morons surrounding him shaking their heads like Bobblehead drones. They do so love spending other peoples money. https://x.com/AlphaNewsMN/status/1923418296835100946?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1923418296835100946|twgr^a443446775360951a1db295cb377c14bd02a5671|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Falphanews.org%2Fwill-budget-agreement-hold-dflers-decry-cuts-to-state-health-care-for-illegal-immigrants%2F

Prices going up ? Shocking. Prices for everything went down all 4 years with the previous administration, including the price of a 4th of July dinner in 2021 I still can't believe the White House released this.. down $0.16! https://www.imagebam.com/view/ME1235M7 -

I agree we have a spending problem, but the more cars, the sooner the roads need to be repaired. When I suggested they automatically raise it a nickel per gallon every 5 years, I'd only agree to that if there was an ironclad guarantee that it was going to be spent on infrastructure and nothing else. Thanks to the troubadour for pointing out that the 18.6 cents is per gallon.
-
Infrastructure is one that could've been taken care of easily, but as is often the case, neither side would let it happen. The federal gasoline tax is something like 18.6 cents & hasn't moved from that figure since 1993. Every time the subject of raising it came up, the vast majority on both sides of the aisle were against it. Republicans said no new taxes & democrats said it would be a regressive tax on the poor. So nothing was done. Anytime after 93 they could've agreed to a hike of a nickel every six years and infrastructure would've been taken care of.

Thank you. It's been growing at an unsustainable rate for 4 decades. And don't forget this doesn't include 175 trillion in current & future unfunded liabilities for SS & Medicare. https://www.statista.com/statistics/187867/public-debt-of-the-united-states-since-1990/
