The people who pay the highest taxes, get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Most Democrats have never been able to grasp this. They simply cannot stand the thought of certain people keeping more of their own money. Not exactly related, but it reminded me of this dip shite DFL'er from Minnesota crying because Republicans in the state are trying to prevent illegal aliens from partaking in state funded/subsidized healthcare. Look at the morons surrounding him shaking their heads like Bobblehead drones. They do so love spending other peoples money. https://x.com/AlphaNewsMN/status/1923418296835100946?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1923418296835100946|twgr^a443446775360951a1db295cb377c14bd02a5671|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Falphanews.org%2Fwill-budget-agreement-hold-dflers-decry-cuts-to-state-health-care-for-illegal-immigrants%2F

Prices going up ? Shocking. Prices for everything went down all 4 years with the previous administration, including the price of a 4th of July dinner in 2021 I still can't believe the White House released this.. down $0.16! https://www.imagebam.com/view/ME1235M7 -

I agree we have a spending problem, but the more cars, the sooner the roads need to be repaired. When I suggested they automatically raise it a nickel per gallon every 5 years, I'd only agree to that if there was an ironclad guarantee that it was going to be spent on infrastructure and nothing else. Thanks to the troubadour for pointing out that the 18.6 cents is per gallon.
-
Infrastructure is one that could've been taken care of easily, but as is often the case, neither side would let it happen. The federal gasoline tax is something like 18.6 cents & hasn't moved from that figure since 1993. Every time the subject of raising it came up, the vast majority on both sides of the aisle were against it. Republicans said no new taxes & democrats said it would be a regressive tax on the poor. So nothing was done. Anytime after 93 they could've agreed to a hike of a nickel every six years and infrastructure would've been taken care of.

Thank you. It's been growing at an unsustainable rate for 4 decades. And don't forget this doesn't include 175 trillion in current & future unfunded liabilities for SS & Medicare. https://www.statista.com/statistics/187867/public-debt-of-the-united-states-since-1990/

Right. Because of that, I give Fitch and standard and pours more credibility than Moody's.
-
Moody's has had the US rated AAA since the 1920s. All of a sudden in 2025, they decide it's time to lower the rating ? Our nations representatives have been fiscally irresponsible for 4 decades + and these focking clowns are just noticing it now ? C.mon man!

FCC approves Verizon acquisition of Frontier for DEI

I was referring to Verizon, not political appointees. -
Other than a few, like Rand Paul for instance, I don't think either side cares, but I also think it has to be in the back of their minds. I'm not sure what would trigger it, reaching a certain $ amount, another world war, or something else ? I think they all know it will have to be addressed at some point, but as a group, they don't have the guts to do the right thing. I think their next move will be related to Social Security (notice I didn't refer to that as an entitlement) it really upsets me when people do. Medicare, maybe, but most people paid into SS for multiple decades, & if both sides of the aisle hadn't, borrowed and spent from it over the years, it wouldn't be the issue that it is today. Congress 1st focked over recipients in 1983. How were they able to do that ? Because like an article I once read stated, because the people it would affect were 12 years old at the time. Congress bent them over again 10 years later in 1993. Ex President Joe Biden voted in favor both times.

Hire the most qualified applicant for the job from top to bottom. Done & done -
A lot of unexpected shite came up this week, so I have to make it brief. What I resent most, is the fact that there's no transparency regarding the fiscal impact for one state (in this case Minnesota) absorbing a ridiculously disproportionate number of Somali. I think I did an adequate job of pointing this out in comment # 13. The fact that the vast majority of those who partook in the daycare fraud of 2017-2023, & the feeding our future debacle in 2020, were almost all Somali refugees that we welcomed into the state with open arms and checkbooks, fuels the flames of my distain for those people. Even worse, is the fact that they tell naïve Minnesotans, that while the initial costs are high, these people turn out to be a huge positive for the State in the long term. This is BS to the nth degree. If that was truly the case, wouldn't other states who receive a disproportionately low number, complain that they aren't getting a fair shake ? I've never heard of that, have you ?
