Going all dividend route in my Roth

I've known about these types of ETFs for a few years now, but I've never really researched them until recently. All 3 of them juice the returns/yield by selling covered calls. I've been doing this on some of my core holdings for the past 12 years & it definitely improves the returns. If you have an interest in how individuals, & in this case ETF managers, go about doing that, here's a link. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/coveredcall.asp
  2. $50 million to fund condoms in Gaza $1.5 million to advance DEI in Serbia's workplaces $70,000 for the production of a DEI musical in Ireland $47,000 on a transgender opera in Colombia $32,000 for a transgender comic in Peru $16 million in funding for institutional contractors in gender development offices $600,000 to fund technical assistance for family planning in Latin America This was all fine, but decide to attend the Super Bowl which will cost extra money for security & some people come unglued.
  3. I'm familiar with PLTR but I've never held it. Somewhat similar story for me with OKLO. Bought 300 shares @ $23.73 10-28-24 cost basis $7119.00 The stock had been surging so I also sold 3 December 20, 2024 covered calls with a strike price of $24 The premium was $4.87 per share. Net proceeds $1,458.91 As I had hoped, the stock took a breather & closed below the strike price on the expiration date & my net was $1459 3 days later, on December 23, I sold 3 January 31, 2025 covered calls with a strike price of $27 the premium was $2.11 per share which netted another $630.97 Sounds good right ? Not exactly. Shares continued to surge & were called away at $27 on January 31. I did well, total cost $7119 & net proceeds of $10,190 for a gain of 43% in 3 months. Shares closed at $45.93 today Had I just held them, instead of selling that 2nd covered call, my 300 shares would now be worth $13,788 for a gain of 94% Dumb As Tony Soprano would say, "whadda ya gonna do"
  4. People are so effing delusional. I owned Intel in its glory days. 1993-2000 I didn't get out anywhere near the top, (left a lot on the table) but at least saw that their dynasty was cratering & locked in decent profits. I kept it in a watch list as I do all stocks that I held at one time. This comment on the yahoo message board today is simply priceless. Ron: Trump 25% tax Donald happy Monday Here's a stock which has a 25 year annualized return of -0.74% & this guy is convinced the problems started on November 4, 2024.

Who Do You Tip Besides Waiters/Bartenders?

Nice I did something similar a couple years ago. Brutally cold and snowing. If memory serves the bill was about $16. Gave the driver $30 She was very appreciative.

  11. YUP John Allen Muhammad, one of the DC sniper attackers, was a member of the Nation of Islam. Muhammad changed his surname after joining the organization in 1987. John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo were responsible for the 2002 DC sniper attacks that killed 17 people. Muhammad was executed by lethal injection in 2009

  21. I think the reason Apple shares have been floundering is because of the Q-3 report. YOY EPS were down 34.1% https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/AAPL/apple/eps-earnings-per-share-diluted If that trend continues with the Q-4 report, it probably won't be good. They made $2.18 in Q4 2023. Let's hope they can match that, or at least come close. For the quarter, Apple reported earnings per share of $2.40 on revenue of $124.3 billion. Analysts were looking for EPS of $2.35 and revenue of $124.1 billion, according to Bloomberg consensus estimates. Looks like a beat, but we'll have to wait and see what the guidance numbers are.

You all know the "hungry animal" commercials....

I despise those animal commercials and either change the channel or mute. Would be a great idea to have a commercial about the horrors of the unborn being slaughtered, but the powers that be would never allow it. They'd say it could traumatize children. How ironic.
  23. Microsoft is a helluva company. 25 years ago, along with Intel, they ruled the computing world. Talk about divergence. Microsoft saw 'the cloud' approaching, Intel didn't.
