The last time something like this happened was 2018. I went over the 'income cliff' by a mere $240. That changed my federal return from a refund of $150, to owing $5496.00

Tesla taking it in the arse today. When it neared $470 mid December, I figured it was ahead of itself by at least $100. It's currently $377. I've always been astounded by momentum traders. They were buying heavily @ $470 without realizing that it had gone up 100% since November 5th based on nothing more than the fact that Trump won the election & Elon is tight with him. The markets, unlike the rest of society, takes no prisoners. You fock up, and they take you behind the woodshed.

If that's the case, I agree 110% For one thing, no GSE should be a publicly traded company. Corruption is rampant. That includes our very own Government. Anyone who doesn't realize that is painfully ignorant and if they lost money by believing otherwise, I have zero pity for them.

Yes, I've read the story many times, & if I gave the impression that I was discounting the role banks played in the meltdown, & blamed it entirely on Fannie and Freddie, that wasn't my intent. You made the point I was trying to make in your reply. My point being that if Fannie and Freddie weren't available to offload those subprime loans, & the banks actually had to hold them, they probably wouldn't have made them. Regards

Only use it to check the fundamentals such as top line (revenues) bottom line (earnings per share) net profit margins, etc, when I find a stock I'm interested in. As for CVS, Revenues look great. CVS Health annual revenue for 2023 was $357.776B, a 10.95% increase from 2022. CVS Health annual revenue for 2022 was $322.467B, a 10.39% increase from 2021. CVS Health annual revenue for 2021 was $292.111B, a 8.71% increase from 2020. That's impressive for a company that size. Unfortunately, trailing 12 months EPS is showing a negative trend. Beginning with Q3 2023 $6.67 - $6.47 - $5.70 - $5.63 - $3.95 Net margins for the same period 2.48% - 2.33% - 1.98% - 1.36% Lastly, look at total returns. $100 invested in CVS stock 5 years ago would be worth $69.37 today.
