Bench D? Can only lose with neg points

I'd do the same thing if they were available. Problem is, they have to play the Lions week 7. Vikings D is obviously superior to the Cowboys, but look what the Lions did to them yesterday, on Dallas turf.

    Stat corrections

I was in the FF playoffs in 2009. My opponent had Kurt Warner as his QB. Week 15 stat change Postby Steelersfan » Wed Dec 23, 2009 4:06 pm Anquan Boldin's five-yard touchdown at the end of Arizona's game from Sunday, originally scored as a reception from Kurt Warner, has been changed by the Elias Sports Bureau to a rushing score, according to ESPN.com. Our View: You have to wonder whether the head of the Elias Sports Bureau lost a close fantasy matchup to a Warner owner. All jokes aside, this news is sure to make for some very irate owners, as the change, and loss of points for Warner, could very well alter a number of matchups that were thought to be final as of Monday night. To the owners who will end up losing out on a trip to their fantasy championship because of this, our best advice is not to dwell too much of the "what ifs" and to think of all the other things in your life you have to be thankful for. Fanball I would have lost by a couple points had they not made the stat change.

An attempt to understand strength of schedule

Bad News 4 Shaheed & Olave Owners

Same in my league. It counts the same as if he had caught a 53 yard TD, or ran for a 53 yard TD. Thank God for that, because I think all he had other than that, was one catch for 11 yards and maybe one run. A correction from my earlier post on this thread. I started a league in 2006. Here's the long and boring story behind that. After 2 years of pushing, my work mates finally convinced me to play fantasy football in 2005. I drew the first pick. I knew 'real football' well as I've been a fan my entire life, but I didn't do enough research regarding fantasy football. I picked Peyton Manning #1 because he had thrown 50 touchdowns the previous year & also picked 2 other top 3 quarterbacks including Tom Brady, thinking I could trade them later. I'm lucky my friends didn't take me out behind the woodshed and kick my arse because I'm sure I screwed up many a draft because of that. The only other player I remember drafting is Clinton Portis. I learned to work the waiver wire & somehow managed to finish 3rd. During the year, because I was desperate to fill other positions that were lacking because of all the QBs I picked, I was frustrated that some of the return specialists of the time (who were available on the waiver wire) wouldn't do me any good because the league didn't give points for return yards. During the off-season, I asked the commissioner if he'd consider changing the settings. The answer was no, so in 2006, I started another league. Let's just say that the commissioner of the original league, wasn't very popular at work, so I had no problem filling mine. I still make mistakes every week but in 2007, I won both leagues. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that felt very satisfying The golden age for return specialists went away to a certain degree in 2011, when the NFL moved the kick off up from the 30 to the 35, in an attempt to increase the number of touchbacks & lessen the number of injuries. Here's a list of return specialists that played during this time & total return yards for their career. Player Return YDS Josh Cribbs 13,488 2005-2014 Darren Sproles 11,313 2005-2019 Devin Hester 11,028 2006-2016 Ted Ginn Jr. 9,523 2007-2020 Leon Washington 9,346 2006-2014 Cordarrelle Patterson 7,998 2013-2024 Jacoby Jones 7,628 2007-2015 Wes Welker 6,722 2004-2015 Danny Amendola 5,450 2009-2021 Derrick Mason 5,086 1997-2011 Antwaan Randle El 4,316 2002-2010 Tyler Lockett 4,266 2015-2024 Percy Harvin 4,127 2009-2016 Steve Smith Sr. 4,055 2001-2016 Ray-Ray McCloud 3,887 2018-2024 Antonio Brown 2,934 2010-2021 Devin Duvernay 2,878 2020-2024 Randall Cobb 2,829 2011-2023

Bad News 4 Shaheed & Olave Owners

I set it up that way when I started the league in 2006. Of course that doesn't count on the defensive side. If a cornerback picks up a fumble and runs it back for a touchdown, it goes to the defense, not the individual.

You're right. I should have been more specific. The nation will be nothing more than a smoldering pile of rubble in 10 years.
  23. Let's dig in. Here's the official press release from the US Department of Justice. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-south-bend-indiana-discriminating-against-black-and-female-police Interesting tidbits from that release. The lawsuit alleges that, since at least 2016, South Bend has used a written examination that has disproportionately excluded Black applicants and a physical fitness test that has disproportionately excluded female applicants from consideration for police officer positions. The department also seeks relief for Black and female applicants disqualified by the challenged tests, including back pay and, for those who can successfully complete the new lawful selection process, job offers with retroactive seniority. Now let's dig in to try and find specific examples of why they claim the physical fitness test has disproportionally excluded female applicants , & the written examination has disproportionately excluded black applicants. https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1373236/dl B. CMPD’s Physical Fitness Test 16: Since at least 2016, Defendant has used a PFT test to screen candidates for SBPD police officer positions. The PFT is a pass/fail component of the selection process. Only individuals who pass the PFT may continue in the selection process. 17: The PFT requires applicants to perform six activities, including a vertical jump, sit-ups, 300-meter run, push-ups, 1.5-mile run, and a pistol trigger pull. To pass the PFT, candidates must meet specific standards for each of the six PFT components. 18: Since at least 2016, female applicants have passed the PFT at a lower rate than male applicants. 19: From 2016 through August 2019, approximately 87.6 percent of male test-takers passed the PFT, while approximately 45.5 percent of female test-takers passed. During this period, the difference between the pass rates of female and male applicants on the PFT is statistically significant at greater than three units of standard deviation. 20: In or around August 2019, Defendant, while still requiring applicants to perform the same six activities on the PFT, lowered the passing standards. Since that time, female applicants have continued to pass the PFT at a lower rate than male applicants. 21. Since August 2019, approximately 83.8 percent of male test-takers passed the PFT, while approximately 47.4 percent of female test-takers passed. During this period, the difference between the pass rates of female and male applicants on the PFT is statistically significant at greater than three units of standard deviation. They go on to say that the PFT isn't job related & that there are alternative selection procedures that it could have used that would have resulted in less adverse impact against female applicants. Have you ever heard of bigger load of BS in your life ? C. SBPD’s Written Test 25. Since at least 2016, Defendant has used a written test developed by Testing for Public Safety, LLC, formerly known as the Institute for Public Safety Personnel, Inc. 26. The written test includes 120-130 multiple choice questions broken down into 7 sections: (1) Learn and Apply Knowledge; (2) Observe and Accurately Describe Events and Objects; (3) Remember Identifying Information; and (4) Remember Shapes and Spatial Relationships; (5) Complete Routine Forms; (6) Grammar; and (7) Spelling. 27. Until 2017, applicants had to score at least 82 percent to pass the written test and advance to the next step in Defendant’s selection process. 28. Since in or around 2017, the test components have remained the same but the minimum passing score was lowered to 80 percent. Since that didn't provide the results they had hoped for, let's see what they tried next. 29. Since at least 2016, African-American applicants have passed the written test at a lower rate than white applicants. Approximately 84.1 percent of white test-takers passed the written test, while approximately 62.8 percent of African-American test-takers passed. 30. Since at least 2016, the difference between the pass rates of African-American and white applicants on the written test was statistically significant at greater than three units of standard deviation. Since lowering the standards didn't provide the results they had hoped for, let's see what they tried next. 31. Since at least 2016, the written test and Defendant’s method of use of the written test has not been job related or consistent with business necessity. 32. Even if Defendant could demonstrate that its use of the written test is job related and consistent with business necessity, there are alternative selection procedures that it could have used that would have resulted in less adverse impact against African-American applicants and still served Defendant’s legitimate needs. This is what should be referred to as denial. No specific reasons as to why a significantly lower percentage of African-Americans passed the written test relative to white applicants. What's the solution the geniuses at the USDJ came up with. A. Refrain from using a written test to screen and select applicants for SBPD police officer positions where such use results in a disparate impact on African Americans, is not job related for the police officer position and consistent with business necessity, and does not otherwise meet the requirements of Section 703(k) of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(k); B. Refrain from using a physical fitness test to screen and select applicants for SBPD police officer positions where such use results in a disparate impact on women, is not job related for the police officer position and consistent with business necessity, and does not otherwise meet the requirements of Section 703(k) of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(k); C. Provide make whole remedial relief to all persons who have been harmed by the discrimination alleged in this Complaint; & D. Adopt other appropriate nondiscriminatory measures to correct the present effects of its discriminatory policies and practices, including the use of police officer selection procedures that comply with Title VII.
