Just wanted to post back on my first weekend without watching the NFL. It was actually quite nice not being glued to the TV. I really didn't miss it at all. Let's face it, these are simply a bunch of overpaid thugs basically chasing a ball and each other around a field. I realized the only thing about it, that I really like, is the gambling action that I usually have going. I do fairly well but let's face it, I and most other gamblers, fantasy diehards, etc get very little return on our investment when you consider the time it takes to be successful. A few grand in return of giving up 4 straight months of Sundays and many hours during the week is really a pretty lousy deal for that much of ones life. There is simply so much more to do in life. In this thread I was very critical of Goodell. I still think he has made many crappy decisions that will forever harm the NFL. However, his actions have made me realize how much of my life I have thrown away being a slave to my fantasy team and my other activities centered around NFL games. So in the end, thank you very much Roger Goodell.

T Rich has been the #29 Rb in PPR this league getting less than half his teams touches. Move him up to 70% and he just may surprise some people.

We have no waivers during the playoffs so you had better be planning ahead in my league.

I would play it like this: If news comes out that he was game ready at practice then i would probably sit him; if the news comes out that he has lost his burst or some other crap, then put him in your lineup. Guy has been targeting this date for a long time now and there is simply no way that he is not in football shape and doesn't know the playbook inside and out.

Bad position to be in. Since it is obviously lopsided and collusion, neither team should be allowed back in the league next year. I would contact the owners and spell that out and give them a chance to rescind the trade offer and save their spot in the league.

Loose morals are now praised instead of condoned and that is the whole point...The NFL and the sponsors use those loose morals to attract fans and dollars and then go hypocritical when the players get out of line. I think AP has paid plenty for his actions as has the whole team and their fans. It has been a dozen weeks of being called out in the public eye on a daily basis. Prolonging his punishment does no one any good but maybe keeps some money coming into the owners pockets. It is the worst kind of discrimination against AP. If the NFL gets rid of the T&A on the sidelines and from the sponsors then I would be willing to give them a little more slack. The only way fans and Americans, on other issues, can ever hope to force change is to stop participating in their enterprise. It is happening,..,I'll bet anyone that overall fantasy participation drops at least 10% next year and tv viewership drops 5-7% and declines for many years after that. These franchises will plummet in value as a result. Serves them right for trying to play the game from both sides. Wearing the jersey is a sign of protest. You can all keep supporting this whole screwed up ideal but I am done giving them my money and believe me i am not alone.

We play 3 WR's. I have Evans, Bryant, Julio, Tate, Gordon and Hopkins. Picked up Evans 2 weeks ago and always had planned to go with Gordon, Julio and Bryant through the playoffs. Does that change now that Evans has blown up or should I go with the proven studs down the stretch?

It has much more with tricking AP onto commissioners list and reneging on the promise that time would count toward his penalty. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. Same with Ray Rice, he served his penalty and then got hit with another. It has just become too much for me to continue supporting the league.

I do not own AP nor does his presence or absence effect my team or playoff chances. Owner that has him is all but eliminated from playoffs and I actually play him this week. He also had Rice. I will follow fantasy online the rest of the season because i have much invested and much money coming to me. I won't play Fantasy again or watch any telecasts until Goodell is gone. Watching Fantasy online for the balance of the season does not benefit the NFL. Watching games and commercials does. I have already called Comcast and killed my $4.99 sports package (Red Zone, NFL network) as some of this money filters to the NFL. It is getting cold here in Florida so my Dolphins gear has been given to the homeless guys begging on the corner. I do have an AP jersey bought for me by my wife's gramdma (big vikings fan, i'm not). It is a jersey i never wore before, but I cherish wearing it now. I don't think wearing it now could be construed as supporting the NFL. My team is fully stocked and will be easy to manage going forward without watching the game telecasts. Sometimes you just have to stand on principle. The facts are that NFL football is a violent game, necessarily being played by violent people. NFL players are the mercenary army of professional sports. Of course these guys will cross the line and no matter what you try to do, this crap won't stop. At least a half dozen guys have gotten into trouble for the same kind of things, even after this all popped up with AP and Rice. You have to expect it, and I agree some punishment is merited, but not on the level and of the inconsistent manner in which the NFL is handing it out. Parents need to start teaching their kids that these players are not heroes. These are thugs being paid highly for entertainment purposes. Most would struggle mightily if they had to doing something non-entertainment oriented for a living. Many would be in prison. Just because they make big bucks for hitting people hard and running fast, doesn't make them worthy of being anyone's hero. As for the NFL every telecast is full of boobs and butts and sexual innuendo. The analysts rave about the hardest hits. The league is among the biggest bunch of hypocrites that I have ever seen. And the sponsors who peddle their beer(responsible for much of the abuse) and their pretty girls to sell their products and then threaten to walk if something isn't done about these players actions, are the biggest hypocrites of all. It really makes me sick. Add in the fact that this type of hypocritical behavior is alive and well throughout all American industry and Government as well doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy. It is time to rid America of these egomanical pyschopaths like Roger Goodell.

He is not a fricking criminal. He punished his kid too severely in the fashion that he was punished as a kid. No way he ever does that again. 8 games and the public eye is plenty of punishment for this case.

Yep. Done for the season. This will costs the NFL a bunch of money and Goodell his job. If I was the Vikings I would strike for the rest of the season. Look for the players Union to get really nasty with the league. Ap should have never agreed to be put on that commissioners list. Next time all will refuse the list and we will end up with a murderer playing in the NFL while he awaits trial.

Browns have given up the least points to Fantasy Defenses in the NFL this year. They are only missing some flash and sizzle which Gordon will deliver. Going to Vegas next week and putting my fantasy winnings (a G) on Browns to win the Super Bowl at 50-1.

Have Julio in instead of Evans. Actually have Tate in instead of Evans but realize the fallacy of my thinking. Thought Julio would be an every week no brainer but with Evans and Gordon on my bench and A. Bryant also on the roster and active, Julio certianly won't be an automatic play going forward.

I picked up SD (Oak, STL) last week for the next two weeks. Weeks 13-14 it is the Vikings (Car, Jets) and 15-16 it is the Titans (Jets, @ Jax). In my league if you wait until the week of, there usually are no good options left. Especially if you are decent and in the second half of waivers order. You need to plan ahead. Giants look pretty good weeks 13-16 as well.

Last 4 games Chargers have won came against Buff, Jax, NYJ, and Oak. Every position on the team got overrated during that stretch. They did beat Seattle in week 2 (with Matthews) but Sea isn't that strong as we have seen since. Basically the fantasy analysts thought the Chargers were Eddie Royal. That's why those who do the best research tend to have the best fantasy teams.

Starting Hawkins and Hopkins in place of bye week Julio and Golden. I think the circumstances are ripe for them to go off. I see ATL as a top 5 offense ROS. Hawkins is also insurance for Gordon not coming back as expected.
