When I was bartending we used it to to say to the bouncers to remove someone from the bar. Forcibly if necessary and/or call the cops. If the bouncers were on duty we would just tell them who to 86. If not, we would just do it or call the cops. On the restaurant side we had a board in the kitchen of what was 86'd off the menu and word was passed around the staff.
