Homan said on “Fox & Friends” that around 10,000 of these children have been recovered since President Donald Trump reentered office. “We are looking for over 300,000 missing children. We’ve already found around 10,000, have you heard that anywhere? No, because the media’s simply not covering it,” Homan said. “And look, this should be a non-partisan issue. Arresting public safety threats and national security threats, everyone should be on the same page on that. Rescuing children, I mean, that should be a non-partisan issue.” Around 291,000 unaccompanied migrant children received no court notices after they illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, and ICE lost track of over 32,000 children who had been released from custody since 2019, a report by the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found in August 2024. Under the Biden administration, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the agency responsible for placing children with adult sponsors, reunited about one-third of unaccompanied children with their parents, The New York Times reported. The remainder were sent to live with relatives or even to homes that were not deemed suitable for children, according to an internal investigation by the inspector general. Democrats have raged at ICE for the arrests at the Glass House Farms, including Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who called Trump “scum.” “Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me “Newscum” — but he’s the real scum,” Newsom said on X. Federal agents clashed with protesters at the farm, prompting the agents to toss tear gas and smoke bombs to make the protesters back away, Fox News reported. U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli announced that $50,000 will be awarded to anyone with information about an unknown individual who appeared to fire a pistol at federal law enforcement.
