No. They already know those people are getting paid. This is a key point of understanding here: They want to know why they are getting paid. Looking at a pay stub tells you one thing, they are being paid by the government. Nothing more.

You never worked in a job that communicates daily through emails? Holy crap. Were you a garbage man or something? Or maybe a barista? Or did you sell women's shoes at Macy's? We had mandatory corporate training requirements communicated via email. Project meetings that we were required to attend communicated via email. Assignments and updates and status requests via email. It's a key communication device in most corporate and government projects. It's also a very effective way to show proof of communication, and emails hold key information coming from a sender that is often saved by the recipient for proof of changes in requirements, designs, instructions etc. It's better than the spoken word over the phone because that allows for deniability. Emails are also used for giving links to key points and locations of data. Docusigning important documentation, including legal approvals, as well as instructions etc. I filed my taxes over the internet this year and they sent me key confirmation info in an email. You all live in the 1950s still.

A couple people who own pink shirts wear a pink shirt because that's what they were going to wear anyway. So basically, no one went out of their way to wear them. Then they got real smart. "JEANS DAY!!! This Friday wear jeans to show your support of the gay community on campus!!!" It was a resounding success for the gays that day. I guess they felt supported. No one cares. Go be gay.
