Teams without quality QBs are not crazy. They are desperate. When the teams are constantly winning 8 games a year and never getting anywhere, they lose themselves. I hear Bears fans all the time whine about how Poles traded Roquan Smith and Quinn a while back. At some point you have to say no to guys who want $100M and won't negotiate and yet only help you win 7 games a year. Poles prioritized a clean slate. A clean salary cap. And it was the exact right way to approach this team. And Fields, being on a rookie contract at QB at that time was a direct victim when they started over. Who knows what he could be if he had a decent foundation to work with? Nobody knows at this point and that is why teams and their egos will want to take a shot on Fields. Dude was not dealt a fair hand, but that's what happens in the NFL. There are plenty of offensive coordinators out there that would love to give it a go with Fields.
