I lived in Baltimore for a short bit prior to moving to Annapolis. It was not population density that made that city frightening. It was the violent culture. And the total lack of educational standards in that very culture. Some of my volunteer stuff took me into some of the inner city schools there. It's unreal. Surreal.

The thing I've been lucky with is over the past 20 years I've been able to live anywhere I wanted because my project locations always changed every couple years. So all I needed was access to an airport. I really enjoyed actually living in various states and areas rather than just visiting. It gave me a view of the country that you can't get from a simple trip.
