To each their own. I do pack pretty "efficiently" and often don't need a second bag. I've seen people freak out over overhead storage though. Trying to move other people's bags around so they can get their bag in where they want it. It's never a pretty scene.

Exactly. I've literally been on 1500+ flights in my life and all I took on to the flights was a backpack with my laptop and whatever in it. Always fit under the seat if no overhead space was available. Loved just having a beer or two before the flights and just relaxing while dismissing the crazies.
