Hershey sued for $5M over missing 'cute' face on Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins
seafoam1 posted a topic in The Geek Club
https://www.npr.org/2024/01/05/1222949715/hershey-reeses-peanut-butter-pumpkin-lawsuit-false-advertising A bit of dressing-up in product advertising is to be expected, but how much embellishment do we allow before we call it a lie? That's the question at the center of Florida woman Cynthia Kelly's lawsuit against The Hershey Company, which makes Reese's Peanut Butter products. Kelly alleges she bought the company's "cute looking" Peanut Butter Pumpkins with a jack-o'-lantern wrapping in October, believing that the candy in question would match the picture — only to feel tricked, not treated. "This is a class action against Hershey for falsely representing several Reese's Peanut Butter products as containing explicit carved out artistic designs when there are no such carvings in the actual products," the lawsuit states. "In order to boost sales and revenues of the Products, Hershey's changed the packaging for the Products to include the detailed carvings within the last two to three years." The suit claims that the problematic packaging extends to Reese's seasonal ghosts, bats and pumpkins, and it cites a number of YouTube videos of other people complaining. -

Bears better not draft that clown #1 overall. The Trojans won their Holiday Bowl game on Thursday without their star quarterback Caleb Williams No.16 Louisville Cardinals in an exciting Holiday Bowl game. USC’s star quarterback Caleb Williams opted to not play in the game and cheered his team from the sidelines. Even without Williams, the Trojans managed to cause an upset as they defeated the Cardinals in a dominating fashion. Furthermore, following the game, the USC players seemingly fired a shot at their former Heisman Award-winning quarterback Caleb Williams, who did not play in the game. A brief video of the Trojans wide receiver Raleek Brown shouting that they are a team now went viral on social media and accumulated more than 941k views within days. Check out the footage of the incident attached below. https://firstsportz.com/nfl-news-usc-players-fire-indirect-shots-at-caleb-williams/
