Consumers starting to buckle for first time in a decade, former Walmart U.S. CEO Bill Simon warns

Let's go Brandon...! https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/09/consumers-buckling-for-first-time-in-decade-former-walmart-us-ceo.html#:~:text=Fast Money-,Consumers starting to buckle for first time in a decade,U.S. CEO Bill Simon warns&text=The draw of bargains may, first time in a decade. The draw of bargains may be fading. As three of the nationâs biggest retailers kick off a key sales week, former Walmart U.S. CEO Bill Simon warns consumers are starting to buckle for the first time in a decade. Heâs blaming a list of headwinds weighing on consumers including inflation, higher interest rates, federal budget wrangling, polarized politics and student loan repayments â and now new global tensions connected to violence in Israel. âThat sort of pileup wears on the consumer and makes them wary,â the former Walmart U.S. CEO told CNBCâs âFast Moneyâ on Monday. âFor the first time in a long time, thereâs a reason for the consumer to pause.â The timing comes as Amazon begins its two-day Prime Big Deal Days sale on Tuesday. Walmart and Target are trying to compete with their own sales events to get an early jump on the holiday- shopping season. Simon observes the retailers have a glaring thing in common: The bargains are not as deep. âYouâre not real proud of your price pointâ âThey usually say 50-inch TV [is] $199 or something like that. And now, they say 50-inch TV [is] 40% off,â said Simon. âYou use percentages when youâre not real proud of your price point. I think youâve got inflation pushing the relative price points up.â Shares of Amazon, Walmart and Target are under pressure over the past two months. Target is performing the worst of the three â off 19%. Simon, who sits on the Darden Restaurants and HanesBrands boards, believes Walmart does have a big advantage over its competitors right now. âItâs solely because of the food business,â Simon said. âTheyâre going to have both the eyeballs and the food traffic to probably have a better Christmas than maybe their competitors.â -

I dated a girl like that once. Straight on, she was beautiful, on the side, a little iffy. She had a great bod too. slight as can be body wise with some big ole tittays. In the end, I guess I'm just not a big ole tittays guy even though she weighed like 95 pounds. 24 years old, 5'4" and slim as can be. Metabolism for days. I love the thin girls more than the big uns girls. Put them both together and I can deal with it though.

"Coal rollers". No one has ever heard that term in their life but since the DOJ says it's happening and is going for the quick money grab, well, the liberals are all on board. -
That face is what trannies are made of. No thank you.

If Trump wins in 2024, within a two weeks these liberal dopes will whine about the economy and say it's all Trump's fault. There will never be any creepy joe accountability by them at any point in history. Including current day. They ignore creepy joe, make up lies about Trump, then demand you prove it to them that their lies are indeed lies. Rinse and repeat. They lie, then say "prove me wrong". As if I'm going to jump and work for them. -
Fun hockey notes about tonight's opening night game for Blackhawks v. Penguins
seafoam1 posted a topic in The Geek Club
Rookie Bedard facing off against his hockey hero Sidney Crosby in their opening game of the season. I'm just waiting now for the opening game to come on at 8pm EST on ESPN. Warming up with the Lightening v. Predators. Tonight the most anticipated rookie prospect since Connor McDavid, Connor Bedard will face off in an opening night NHL game, against Sidney Crosby, another #1 overall pick but back in 2005. Bedard wasn't born yet when Crosby was drafted in 2005. He was born in 2005, July. Bedard is 18, same as Crosby when he was drafted and now Crosby is 36. What a trip. Bedard has been followed by experts and media since he was in his single digits age wise. He was scoring against professional goalies at the age of 12 and his stock has been only going up from there. That's gotta be a real trip for the kid to take the ice in his first professional game facing off on the #1 line against one of his hockey heroes in Sidney Crosby. That will be his very first action in the league. Talk about dreams coming true in such a surreal manner. Bedard is a serious level headed dude. In all the interviews after the draft he has been sharp and just kept telling media that his focus is just to "make the team". That's his first goal in the league. Well, he made the team. I'm sure Crosby can get the better of Bedard tonight but he and other stars around the league have been in awe of this kid Bedard. Their only advice was for him to just get used to the league and enjoy all that is going on around him. Other first overall picks said they were so overly focused that they forgot to enjoy their time and didn't really take it all in. They all said Bedard has an unbelievable shot, possibly the best in the world even at his young age, but it will just take him time to get used to things. The Hawks brought on in the offseason a 33 year old ex #1 pick in Tyler Johnson to watch over Bedard and a 35 year old veteran enforcer in Nick Foligno that has proven to have zero problem with going toe to toe with anyone in the league. He's well hated by many team's fans. Including the Blackhawks' fans prior to their signing him. Hawks will have other rookies on the ice this year and they have one of the better farm systems in all of hockey. They will lose a lot of games this year but this year is about getting experience and growth in their young players and figuring out who will be future linemates with who. Loving this. -

I can't help you. You paid no attention throughout the Trump administration and after the fact you throw out a bunch of lame wrong liberal whiny talking points. You completely forgot that your hero Fauci assisted China in unleashing a pandemic on the American public during Trump's time in office. Then you joined in with Nasty Pelosi and Creepy Joe Biden in calling Trump a xenophone for wanting to shut down the borders during a focking global pandemic. Then when creepy joe got into office he had policy to shut down everything for so long while he paid people to sit on their asses while conservatives went back to work in spite of the tottering old dementia stricken spend thrift pedophile that you and your idiot liberal tranny friends refuse to talk about because your TDS has been set to 'Rage' mode since 2015 and is stronger today than ever before. I'm not going to explain things to dumb ass denying liberal TDS infected nazis like yourself because it makes no difference in the end. You are programmed by your liberal authoritarian masters through the liberal collective programming you have been linked to. When it comes to you denying lying liberals, there is no reason to put up facts because you are too far gone. Have fun whining your life away in deep with your TDS. -
I'll expand a thread if I want. You offer nothing of value in any thread. Now stop trolling me. It's focking annoying.

Spot on. This is what the back rooms of our current day government are filled with. A bunch of drunken old liberals thinking hard about how to squeeze money from the people and businesses of the US and to put the focus on the blame they cast upon the people instead of the money grab and the wasted resource use on their own processes and actions. Now let's get out there and raise some taxes. The war in Europe and creepy Joe need the money. -

Being a Blackhawk fan I never really followed Crosby in detail other than knowing the skills the dude has and his accomplishments. Personality is personality but appreciating the skill of a player as an up and coming generational talent? Nothing wrong with it. Bedard actually has a bunch of guys in the NHL he's looked up to over his teen years. Nothing wrong with this: Sidney Crosby made his Olympic debut on home ice at Vancouver 2010 where he scored the âGolden Goalâ against Team USA in overtime to secure Canadaâs record 14th gold medal of the Games. At Sochi 2014, Crosby served as the teamâs captain, leading Canada to back-to-back gold medals. Crosbyâs first time wearing the maple leaf was as a 16-year-old at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championship where Canada won silver. He would return to the tournament in 2005 and help Canada secure the gold medal. In 2006 he competed at the IIHF World Championship and led the tournament in scoring with eight goals and eight assists and was named Best Forward as Canada finished fourth. He returned to the IIHF World Championship in 2015 to help Canada win gold, making him a member of the Triple Gold Club. He was also a member of the victorious Canadian squad at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey where he led the scoring with three goals and seven assists. Crosbyâs NHL career began with him being drafted first overall in 2005 by the Pittsburgh Penguins, with whom he has played through the 2018-19 season. Crosby was named the Penguinsâ captain in 2007, at the time the youngest NHL player to ever hold that title. Crosbyâs individual NHL honours include: three Stanley Cups (2009, 2016, 2017), two Conn Smythe Trophies (2016, 2017), three Ted Lindsay Awards (2007, 2013, 2014), two Hart Memorial Trophies (2007, 2014), two Art Ross Trophies (2007, 2014), two Maurice Richard Trophies (2010, 2017), and one Mark Messier Leadership award (2010). Crosby was also the recipient of the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canadaâs Athlete of the Year in 2009. Crosby was inducted to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012 with his teammates from the 2010 Olympic hockey team. -
