Yes, OF COURSE someone who is here illegally is more of a flight risk. And he does have a criminal record: he's here illegally. This isn't even a debate. I would most certainly be on board with that, but what I would be more on board with is that they stay in Mexico until their hearing and not be allowed into the country.

You realize that EVERY day people are charged with crimes and that includes a whole host of other charges that are eventually dropped or waived. You calling that "theatre" too? It's an actual prosecution thing they do with prosecutors everywhere all across America: Add a bunch of charges so in case you lose some there will be others. Are you really this dense? I grew up in a religious household and while I believe religion can be a good thing - and I hold no ill will towards those who practice religion - religious people will believe what they want to believe. I never understood why God/Jesus/Whoever spoke in riddles and "appeared" in things rather than just showing up and saying, "Hey, right here! Stop doing that sh#t". Right? Seems like that would be the best way to clarify things other than these types of "appearances" where it just confuses people even more. Or maybe this is just a cloud.
