I think you're misunderstanding what they're saying. What they're saying is that whether you're lesbian or gay, you are two times the rate of heterosexuals. So if you're lesbian, you are two times more and if you are gay you are two times more. You're reading that as one group together and assuming that it's the gay side that's causing most of the problems and if you took them out, lesbians would be a very small and minuscule portion. That is not what the report is saying.

It actually says "lesbians OR gay persons" (not AND), and that should change the equation for you.
