Yep. 100%. The Party told them not to believe their eyes and ears and they happily accepted that, no questions asked. I still have liberal friends that insist that this was never a problem up until the debate and they're still going to vote for him anyways. "Conservative" in England is really just center left here. "Labour" in England is far left here. So the OP's assertion should really be more like "a rejection of center-left" policies.
