Brian Robinson Jr.: My RB just got shot

Can they still use the six-week IR for him?

How do you rank RBs 3-8?

Where is Mixon ranked? He needs to be in the 3-8 grouping.

Sean Mooney's 2022 Season Drafts- Week 14 Update

The WR's might be a little weak but your rb's, qb, t/e, def will keep you very competitive. Good job.

    Chiefs Receivers 2022 - predictions?

Problem is their rb’s don’t scare anyone. Andy dropped the ball. There’s still time to bring a back in but the options are limited. He needed to draft one early rather than rely on a seventh round pick.
  7. So last season I drafted Hill in several leagues with my 1st pick. In fact, in a small $25 league I took him with thee #1 pick just for giggles. Michael Irvin, ESPN resident criminal, proclaimed him the most electrifying player in the NFL. Several FF sites had him ranked as the best WR in the league. So why did he disappear from game-to-game last year and watch Pringle and Hardman get his targets? Was it double coverage? Scheme? Here's my theory. K.C. knew he would ask for the contract he eventually got from Miami and had no intention of giving it to him. In an attempt to devalue his worth, they reduced his participation in the offense. When you're paying $500 million to the QB, the T/E big money, and significant coin to a couple of D-linemen, there just isn't enough left to pay a WR $25 million a year. Hence the trade. So, if I'm correct then this year I'll be trying to identify the players wanting to get paid, on teams that can't afford to pay them or won't pay them, and consequently move them down the draft board. Players that come to mind include Nick Chubb, Josh Jacobs, D K Metcalf, and David Montgomery to name a few. Does this make any sense?

    Trade Offer

In one of my 10 team, redraft, ppr leagues I've been offered the 4th pick for my 10th pick. I'm guessing he wants to take two WR's at 10 and at the turn at 11. Chase and Adams would be a possibility. At 4th a #1 rb will be there and at my 2nd pick (#17) I could get a WR or another RB. Good options for both 4 and 10. Anyone have a preference between picking 4th or 10th? I'm somewhat undecided.

    Joe Mixon

I'm starting to pump the brakes a bit on the Cinn offense for several reasons. Higgins isn't practicing yet after having shoulder surgery. Burrow not practicing after having an emergency appendectomy that may have burst. His Dad said although the recovery is typically 2-4 weeks, he's unsure how long Burrow would be sidelined. And finally, there's the Super Bowl loser hangover that affects a lot teams the following year, after losing the SB. All of that said it may benefit Mixon if they lean on the running game initially. I'd pass on him in rd #1 but jump on him early rd #2 if he's still available. Just my opinion for now unless something changes.

    Trade Offer

Paul Charchian from Guillotine Leagues had Harris the #2 pick in his auction leagues. Harris and Cee Dee might be a winner at 1 & 2.
  11. So, the three WR's (Adams, Hill & A.J. Brown) are getting paid big coin on new teams, with different QB's. In Browns case he goes from a rushing offense and Tannehill to the Eagles rushing offense and Hurts. Adams loses a HOF passer and reunites with his college QB who arguably has been pedestrian so far in his career. And Hill is leaving a superb passing offense with a likely future HOF QB to Tua and Miami. Last year at this time Adams and Hill were 1st round picks in redrafts and Brown, although slightly lower, was still a top 5-7 WR. This year? Where do you rank these guy's now, and will the deals that they signed force the teams to force feed the ball to them? And can their new QB's be successful? In Browns case it doesn't look promising for several reasons. One, the weakness in the Eagles' offense is their passing game. Brown might help but he'll be sharing targets with Smith and Goedert, while relying on a QB, Hurts, whose weakness is reading and reacting to the defense, not a great arm, and well the whole QB throwing the ball thing. Tannehill wasn't much better but at least Brown had Henry to take the focus off of him and no other receiving threats to take his targets. We already discussed Hill and Tua and if nothing else I think we all agreed there will be challenges for them. Perhaps the one with the best chance of coming close to his usual production is Adams. Carr is no Rodgers, but I think he's clearly better than Hurts and Tua. Where you taking these guys in a redraft this year?

    Fournette

He’ll be 28 years old in January. He’s a very large man with an old QB. Last year was his swan song. Your buying a stock at its high. Never a good strategy

    Player you will draft early-ish?

Robinson has avoided the pup list and now expected to be the starter according to Doug Pedersen yesterday. That's only seven months removed from a torn Achilles but nonetheless he's in camp and practicing. It looks like rbbc at best for Etienne at this point but things could change. I'd rather take Chubb or Jones if I'm getting a RB with a 60/40 split.

    Dobbins, Mitchell and Harris

These three rb’s seem to be under valued at this point. All three play in a run heavy offense. All have questions to be sure but in rounds four to six they could potentially out perform backs ranked higher. Mitchell In SF offense, Harris with N/Eng, and Dobbins in Baltimore run game offense offer high upside. Dobbins coming off injury seems to be the biggest risk but both Harris and Mitchell look like great value at their current adp. I rank them Harris, Mitchell, Dobbins in that order. The picks in rounds three through seven can be the difference in a playoff team or a loser. How would you rank these three RB’s?

Dallas Goedert Was Quite Efficient Last Year

I think you should draft both Hurts and Goedert. I live in Philly and the reports are already being leaked that Hurts hasn’t improved as a passer. Goedert would be a top three TE with a NFL QB.

    Adjusting for Kamaras possible suspension

Well, apparently In Louisiana it’s a serious allegation with significant prison time if he’s convicted. Up to 5 years imprisonment if guilty. The fact that the NFL is floating 6-8 game suspension would seem to indicate the fix is in. Rules for thee and rules for me.

    Three-Year extension for Terry McLaurin

    Riveting
  21. Looking back, and it's always easy to look back, it's hard to believe he was drafted ahead of Allen, let alone the #1 pick in the draft. Then again Darnold and Rosen went in the top ten as well. Throw in Barkley, R. Smith, and it was a weak group.
  22. We'll probably never know all the details of Watson's situation. But putting aside those details for a moment I found it curious that the NFL is insisting, according to ProFootballTalk, on an indefinite suspension to shield the league against additional plaintiffs/suits that may come forward. On the surface that makes some sense. But what also makes sense is that the league wants the fully guaranteed contract voided that the Browns gave Watson. My suspicion is that upset the owners more than his appetite for erotic massages. A fully guaranteed $230 million deal sets a precedent that I can imagine has pissed off a lot of owners and GM's. It's a game changer financially. What happens in Cincinatti when Burrows rookie deal expires? Lamar Jackon, Herbert, Allen, as well, will cripple their team's ability to build around them. We'll see more trades like we saw recently with Hill, Brown, and Adams. The cheaper teams that aren't concerned about winning as much as making money, could just replace the QB every 4-5 years in the draft. I'm not sure if the deal can be voided because of a personal conduct clause or if the plaintiffs sue the league or the team, but this issue is far from a resolution. Florio said the trade can't be reversed but the contract is different. The trade is between two parties that agreed to a deal knowing there are ongoing and an undetermined number of unresolved present and future civil cases against the player. The Browns agreed to a contract with the player based on available information, 24 civil suits, and the word of the player and agent. If additional suits are filed, can the team argue they were duped? Of course, the easiest solution for the league is a lifetime ban. That essentially makes the contract null and void. The financial concerns are resolved, their brand is protected, while appearing to care about womans rights. A win, win, win for the league. Not so much for the team and player. I really believe the guilt or innocence of Watson is burying the lead. This is a league that let a player, Leonard Little, continue his career after he killed a woman while driving drunk. You think they care about massages? No, this is threatening the one thing they hold sacred. Money. Just like everything in sports, business, politics, and yes, even some religions. Money. It's the great motivator. Watson and his agent would have been better off taking a standard deal from Cleveland instead of the fully guaranteed offer. He could have taken a suspension of some kind and moved on. Greed is a terrible thing.
  23. I’d watch my hometown team. That’s it. Your point is well taken.

    Later round lotto Tickets-WR

Yeah, he could get a lot of targets simply by default. Kamara now facing a civil suit on top of the August court date for assault. Thomas hasn't been reliable since he got paid and as you said the rookie is an unknown. Vegas has their win total at 7.5 and should both Kamara and Thomas be unavailable they'll be playing from behind a lot and that win total will drop. He could have a year like Cooks had with Houston last year. Bad team with few playmakers.
