Cops and judges will always side with the person who says “im sorry” as almost noone does it. Everyone approaches the law thinking they are some master manipulator and can win that way. Cops and judges hear im sorry so infrequently its pretty much an automatic win.

In my experience in the justice system everything is gamed to maximum benefit and no one is being honest. They try to make sure they get the best judges most sympathetic to their case, work whatever people and whatever timing they can and it feels so skeevy. I cant watch it.
