I discussed that on FBGs in one of my deleted posts years ago. Actually football is a game of field position, not yardage. The way to win consistently in the NFL is to pin your opponent deep all day and force them to march 90 yards to score. Eventually your opponent makes mistakes. So losing the yardage total isnt a big sin.
