What's with all the conservatives cancelling people?
Sean Mooney replied to Cdub100's topic in The Geek Club
I'm just stating what the poster was referring to when they said what they did. But the story goes: - Lead singer Natalie Maines made a comment about being ashamed the President was from Texas and they didn't support the war. She did this in London. - After that, the song they had on radio at the time (a pretty good cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" went from 10 to 43 and off the chart a week later. Stations just stopped playing it. - 42 radio stations run by Cumulus Media were not allowed to play music by the Dixie Chicks per a company edict. 2 DJs who played their music at a Colorado station were suspended. An Alabama radio station dropped all Dixie Chicks songs after fielding complaints all day long. - Louisana protestors destroyed Dixie Chicks CDs and merchandise. A Kansas City station put trash cans outside their offices and encouraged people to throw away Dixie Chicks stuff. - Lipton cancelled a contract with them - To all of this George Bush said: Contrast that with the BS that Trump spewed. - As late as 2006 radio stations were still refusing to play Dixie Chicks songs. And the Chicks basically had to leave country music behind. -

There are real issues in the world and they are wasting time with this. But I guess people are still stupid enough to believe the litter boxes lie over and over and over. -

They were canceled in like 2003 when they made comments about George W. Bush as President -
J.D. Vance Vows Crackdown on Left-Wing Groups on Charlie Kirk Show
Sean Mooney replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
would be screaming into his pillow if Biden Regime said "We are going to crackdown on the right wing extremists" -
Schools don't have litter boxes. That is a dumb fake story that has been around for 4 years because it helps push a fake culture war that people with a brain the size of a gnat buy into
-
Do you actually watch this happen? What a pervert

So now MAGA loves cancel culture? -
Raiders wanted to bounce out of the conversation quickly after he got proven wrong.

Explain DEI. Avoid sweeping statements
-
So you chose the "I'll make up what you said and argue against it" style of debate.
-
I understand pretty much all of it. I see you aren't interested in debating any particular merits of it though.
-
Well intentioned but not fully thought out is a lot of political policy. Also, people not understanding DEI is a bigger issue than what it actually does.
-
I think I get the point Ron is trying to make- although I think the way he is making it is weird and undercutting him. Do we know there are defined looser restrictions for a prospective black pilot versus a white one. I mean I can see affirmative action or DEI in principle if you are at a company and someone gets promoted having a year of experience versus 10 years of experience solely because of the color of their skin. That is problematic. But for being a pilot- are they changing the test requirements for someone? Are they making the pathway easier for a black pilot? I guess the question is- are they truly hiring someone with limited flight hours because of the color of their skin. I somehow doubt that is specifically what is happening.

Honestly the most I ever hear about gay pride stuff is here....I didn't even know the parades still existed.
-
You could give me a thousand guesses and I'd never be able to tell you a location of a gay pride parade or what people wear there.

He is a troll. Treat him as such and it gets so much better here.

There were 13 home games in the NFL yesterday. 8 teams honored Charlie Kirk before hand: Those teams went 2-6. 5 teams declined to honor Charlie Kirk: Those teams went 4-1. The message is clear- don't honor CK, or maybe it was the universe retaliating for the fake stories that were populated about NFL players paying for Kirk's kids lives.......or a lot of shitty teams hosted home games yesterday.

Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson lived with transgender partner
Sean Mooney replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
I think one dumbass here celebrated CK being killed and they were roundly criticized by both sides here. The tranny/furry angle is more mocking the people on this site who are obsessed with that stuff and will latch onto it no matter what. -
There is a difference between disagreeing with someone and dehumanizing someone. HTH
-
He did operate in dehumanizing groups of people using the Bible and its teachings as a weapon and divider. He did say some things that could be taken as racist as well. I get why people want to lionize him. Lots of people get lionized in death regardless of what they were in life. Kirk was an online troll who went out in public to deliver speeches and fake debate stuff and then edited it to make himself look smarter than the driven by emotion young college dupes. When he did run into someone who was able to rationally debate him he almost always got smoked and would get visibly agitated. And as I've said numerous times- before anyone tries to say otherwise- none of that makes killing him acceptable in any way whatsoever.

How do we know he wasn't just shot again?

Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson lived with transgender partner
Sean Mooney replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
I can create a silly, totally fake conspiracy theory over it all: The White House team wanted this to be all about the left attacking Kirk for his beliefs. Then there was evidence that he was potentially at worst influenced by the even further right Nick Fuentes (who Trump hosted for dinner and has praised) and at best was influenced in large part by social media and online troll culture (which is what Kirk trafficked in as well to a degree) and it did not fit the narrative as nicely as they wanted. So they circled the wagons and started putting out information to their online sycophants to spread about who Robinson "really" was in order to get the red meat they so badly wanted for their base. They got the governor of Utah in on it after he tried to stay above the fray in his first press conferences...probably offered him a quid pro quo of some kind Does that move the needle for ya? -
The Russian posting bot is broken.....

If he was extreme right wing it's a shame he ruined his life like this, and even more of a shame he took someone else's life, over this stuff. He should've done like extreme right winger Horseman does here- make up 8 different names to shitpost on a fantasy football message board in between shifts at Arby's and whoring out his make believe wife. His life would still be awful, but everyone would be alive and/or not facing jail time.

The dude's name is unfortunate because there is a Tyler Robinson Foundation out there that was started by Imagine Dragons that helps to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. Of course there are a bunch of people leaving Google reviews with Charlie Kirk eulogies, criticizing the foundation for raising a killer, and other hateful messages...... Solid work Internet detectives.
