Biden has met the moment since Saturday in his statements calling for less charged rhetoric and hitting on things that have happened to both Democrats and Republicans in the past 7-10 years. He has looked considerably better in the last 48 hours and Presidential in nature. The big thing now is what will Trump do this week. The tenor of speeches will be important and Trump's speech on Thursday will be arguably the most important speech he has given in his political career. Biden has looked calming the past few days. Trump needs to match that tone because they are essentially competing for like a hundred thousand votes to win the Presidency and if Trump does his normal Trump thing it will just make it look like he has learned nothing.

It will probably never happen but man if Biden and Trump did a joint message on TV basically saying "Tomorrow we will be political opponents, but today we are asking people to take down the verbal rhetoric." it would be cool.

Yeah as I said initially- this is bad for America and both sides need to ratchet down the rhetoric. It's idiotic at this point and it leads to something like this that is bad, but could've been way worse.

It's been said here that presidents should not be blamed when people put their own spin on something that was said. Does Biden explicitly say "Go shoot Donald Trump"? If not, sorry- by prior precedent set here you can't hold Biden responsible.

A guy is questioning why an old person wants to stay relevant in the public eye while posting the topic at 4am on a Saturday. Every politician craves the power. The sooner you all stop thinking one side good, one side evil and instead see they are all bad the better off you will be
