Trump did call into Newsmax a little later to say that "the woman from FOX News got a little uppity at one point."

The session today the Trump team said the audio was messed up which delayed it by 35 minutes. The conflicting reports from the organization are that the Trump team was objecting to the live fact checkers who were going to be there as they didn't want fact checks in real time. My guess is people will believe whatever best fits their narrative so either Trump is yet again aggrieved by the "nasty" media or he wanted to be able to lie without being called on it.

They don't want the reality of the situation.

There are two components to VP selection for me- the first is the aspect of what do they give you ticket wise? Do they give you something that helps smooth over some perceived weakness you might have to the general electorate (think Cheney to Bush or Biden to Obama or Pence to Trump really)? Do they help give you a push in a state that might be needed to win (If I'm right that Shapiro will be Kamala's VP this kind of fits that)? The second aspect is do they have anything in their background that shows that they could potentially be a leader and form necessary coalitions and help build connections that you will need in order to be President. Obviously both of those things are hugely subjective. Now the other thing for me would be- if we want to make a case that there are no real qualifications for VP then that seems to indicate- who the hell cares if Kamala was a "DEI hire"? If there is no qualification necessary- then pick whoever the hell you want as long as you don't pick someone like James Stockdale. And TBF- I'm not arguing against the idea of "qualified"/"eligible" that you are drawing between. I get what you are saying.

The worst thing Biden did to Harris was make the comment about what his VP pick would be. Because on paper you could look at her rise through the political ranks and the various positions she held and say "Yeah okay...she's qualified." But because Biden said what he did it puts her under a microscope that is honestly unfair to what she accomplished in her life to this point. I mean- no one seems to be railing about the lack of qualifications that Vance has for the VP spot and it's clear that Harris has a better political resume than Vance.

It won't because: 1.) The people Trump is trying to drive to the voting booth are exactly the type of people who will love what he is saying here. 2.) You can already see people here doing the work of trying to gaslight it all to people. 3.) Too many people in this country anymore just vote for the letter behind the name and not the actual content of what the person is and does. Happens both ways

Be careful saying stuff like this. You start measuring yourself against others here and calling yourself a "life winner" in the same way that doofus Horseman did and next thing you'll be on your 5th username here still typing nonsense because your life is considerably emptier than you pretend it is.

Realtim definitely has that idea that everything is a needle mover and it just isn't. On the flip side you have guys like Overkill, peefoam, HT, and the like who just vomit back up everything on Twitter as if it is all true and all meaningful.

The US women's beach volleyball teams both looked solid. US women Cheng/Harris had a really fun match against the French team this morning...and Snoop Dogg in the crowd egging it all on was great. Also, putting that right outside the Tower gives a cool visual on the long shots.

The video cuts off her thanking Trump for being there at the beginning of the question. And it's a fair question- albeit asked in a very long winded manner. Trump pretends to be butthurt over it all because it is "nasty." He also does not really answer the question. But the little bit he says that does address the question gets bogged down in him making it about him being aggrieved as opposed to what he has actually done. This is the same stupid track that lost him the 2020 election.

Signs are starting to point to Josh Shapiro being the running mate. That would be a shame for PA because he is a really solid governor. It would benefit Kamala in that he helps in PA and he has a history- to this point- of working across the aisle on things and he does have some beliefs that would jive with more moderate Republicans.

The number of people in the country who think for themselves anymore is low and I would make the case is not the "average" anymore

I think something like five 3 year terms is appropriate. That would give someone 15 years on the bench. I'd say we could go to 20. I also think there should be term limits on Congress. there is no reason that people Pelosi and McConnell are in Congress as long as they are.

It's even weirder considering they were not allowed to fight in the World Championships Just a horrible call by the IOC Yup...but I bet the MAGA people here will have some excuse why this is okay
