Can we go normalize again disagreeing with someone's politics without feeling the need to do capture fantasies about them? none of this- I want to capture and/or kill the person i disagree with is ok

I'm not referring to this thread. I'm referring to a discussion we had weeks ago about the economy where you blew off polls and anecdotes as not evidence

You did not. I presented videos and polls. You blew them off and then used polls for your own evidence. It's okay to just admit you just wanted to use ones that benefitted you.

Because when I presented polls and interviews with people that indicated that they felt the economy was doing well you blew that off as not the reality of what was happening. it's clear it wasn't the reality that you wanted to hear.

No one is 100% here and I've read plenty of stupid arguments from people on the left here. I will take someone who I might not politically jive with that is good 80% of the time over some of the other trash that posts here with just twitter links, and insipid commentary in between bites of their Hot Pocket.

The real answer is there were warning signs in the economy in 2019 (those are on Trump). He might have been able to spin things back in the right direction but COVID hit (can't blame him for COVID). He reacted poorly to it as a whole and helped make it last longer than it should have which led to them having to do a second stimulus package to try and boost things domestically (Trump wanted to do a major package, he got voted down, then Biden did it- I'm assuming it was okay when Trump wanted to do it and bad when Biden did it for reasons). There are things Biden has done that made the spin out of this go slower than it needed to as well. Regardless of who the president was going to be in 2020-2024 there was going to be economic troubles. It may have been less bad under Trump, it could've been way worse. The economy as a whole right now is fairly healthy even if it isn't being felt at a base level entirely yet. However, people want to try and make this into a weird beauty contest with a septuagenarian and an octogenarian. It's silly- especially when you recognize two people from two different parties got us here.

RLLD is one of the best posters here whether you want to view him as a conservative or just posters as a whole. He can have a normal conversation with you and find common ground even if it feels like it takes a while. Compare him to some of the others floating around here

Cops have become to the left what teachers have become to the right. Some bad apples that ruin it for all the good ones but the loud idiots on the side against them yell loud enough and post enough stupid videos that they can get people to buy into the ideas they want to sell.
