Moms For Liberty GOP accused of rape
Sean Mooney replied to The Psychic Observer's topic in The Geek Club
Hey you wrote a post without a gay joke or using the term "glory hole"....you might actually have matured to the age of 12 -
Hey @RLLD just wanted to see if you saw this question I posed. I was interested if you wanted to discuss this further.

Moms For Liberty GOP accused of rape

He;s not alt right...he's the "most centrist poster here..." He just happens to take up for the people on the alt right....and defend them constantly....and- well....you get the point -
This documentary was fantastic- especially the way it was done. Because the wife basically lived her whole life online they do the footage through cell phone cameras, security cameras and everything. Also, the narrative of the film is interesting because for a brief moment they make you mildly feel bad for the husband before reminding you- no this guy is a jerkoff who murdered his family- screw him. I'll add 2 others for now: 3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets- it's about the shooting of Jordan Davis in Florida in 2012 and does a pretty fair look at all of it and really doesn't judge anyone involved. In a roundabout way it looks at the culture of fear that is out there but even that isn't 100% accurate. Also, they were granted access to the trial which is fascinating. There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane- a "supermom" gets behind the wheel with a huge BAC and marijuana in her system. She then crashes her van head on into an SUV as she was going the wrong way down the Taconic. She kills 8 people including herself, her two kids, three nieces, and 3 guys in the SUV she hit. The documentary deals with the disbelief of her husband and sister in law as they refuse to believe the toxicology reports and can not see this woman they knew as someone who would ever endanger her kids and family like that. It really is an intriguing look at how our memories and thoughts of people can cloud reality laid out in front of us.

If I'm feeding a bias then so are you. Can we at least agree that what Disney actually said is far more complex than the simple headlines people posted here?

Epstein Suicided, Who Are They Protecting?

Holy crap dude....the tin foil on your head is strangling your neck and not allowing oxygen to your brain. -
I wasn't really. I pointed out Disney didn't really say that woke hurt them either. I showed what they said and how it was far more nuanced than the simplistic version you want to believe. i get it though- reading and comprehending is hard. But try again man. No need to give up so easily.

Now you want to police what threads people click into? I saw the thread near the top decided to see what people were silly enough to be watching it...not surprisingly you were and you were trying to score points on it. Sorry to blow up how sad your life is.

How about you go find your mom and ask her to read you the post and explain it all so you can see there is more context there?
-
Imagine making up stupid stuff to try and prove a point. same old sh!t from you...find a new act...at least find something to watch on TV slightly more entertaining than the great Who Cares Debate. I mean god- you watched it so you could come on here and try to score points on people....go touch grass dude
-
I could have 100 TV's and I'd still find 100 things that would be more worthwhile to watch than Ren and Stimpy doing a nothing burger debate. But I get it for you..
-
I was shocked too. Imagine choosing to watch a nothing happening debate with absolutely zero stakes over like football or hell whatever is on like Food Network tonight or something. I did read about it online a little and thought this quote from Newsom wins everything: We have one thing in common. Neither of us will be the nominee for our party in 2024.”

Over inflated budgets has definitely been a complaint lodged at current Disney movies. Here is the list of movies and worldwide box office: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania $476.1 million Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 $845.6 million The Little Mermaid $569.6 million Elemental $494.7 million Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny $384 million Haunted Mansion $117.4 million The Marvels $188.8 million (so far) Wish $48.9 million (so far) interesting note on Haunted Mansion is that in 2022 it cost them about 150 million dollars to make. In 2002 they made the first version of the film for 90 million which adjusted for inflation is about 153 million. So proportionally they spent less to make the film and it took in way less. Again- I don't think anyone wanted it. And no one was looking for yet another Indiana Jones movie and superhero movies have hit a saturation point.

I don't care about scoring political points over any of it- let them all rot in hell. But people need to stop bringing up Epstein- dude is dead as he should be and the only problem is he didn't suffer enough in his death. -
That is more the problem. 2019 Disney released Aladdin and Lion King which were equally looked at as "Who the hell asked for live action retellings of these films?" They did 1.054 billion and 1.663 billion at the worldwide box office respectively. But the general dialogue was still kind of "Why was this necessary?" Little Mermaid furthered that and this time didn't do as well because it became a thing about a black girl playing Ariel and not about "Who asked for this?" As to the costs- the cost skyrockets because of all the FX shots that go into it. Basically every movement in the background or changing certain things (a notable example from a different film is the 1999 film The Mummy where they needed to change stuff from daytime to nighttime so they had to visual effect the sun out) that runs up a cost after a while. I would highly recommend a podcast called What Went Wrong which talks about famously troubled movie productions to get a sense of how quickly costs on films can skyrocket for even the most mundane stuff.

If you read the filing what Disney is saying is far more nuanced than what the headlines or the paraphrasing of the quote from Turley indicates. Additionally- it is listed as risk factor #3 under the category of risk factors that begins with: ITEM 1A. Risk Factors For an enterprise as large and complex as the Company, a wide range of factors could materially affect future developments and performance. In addition to the factors affecting specific business operations identified in connection with the description of these operations and the financial results of these operations elsewhere in our filings with the SEC, the most significant factors affecting our business include the following: Under this category they specifically mention in this order: Declines in U.S. and global economies, changes in technology and consumer consumption patterns, the current topic under discussion, maintaining IP, cybersecurity, and uncontrollable events (ie COVID), competitive pressure, bad contracts, regulations both domestically and internationally, environmental issues, damage to the brand, DTC issues, volatility in markets, elevated indebtedness, labor disputes, seasonality of some businesses, obtaining and retaining employees and their contract wealth, further acquisiton costs (specifically the buyout of NBCU on Hulu which they are going to roll under the Disney+ label). So there are 18 different risk factors mentioned but the narrative required Turley and then FOXNews to focus on the one that fits their narrative and people hook onto it. As to the issue being specifically discussed in this thread they said this: Turley quoted this: "“we face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products. the success of our businesses depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content, Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance. Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands.” Here is the full quote: " We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products, which impact demand for our entertainment offerings and products and the profitability of any of our businesses. Our businesses create entertainment, travel and consumer products whose success depends substantially on consumer tastes and preferences that change in often unpredictable ways. The success of our businesses depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content, which may be distributed, among other ways, through broadcast, cable, theaters, internet or mobile technology, and used in theme park attractions, hotels and other resort facilities and travel experiences and consumer products. Such distribution must meet the changing preferences of the broad consumer market and respond to competition from an expanding array of choices facilitated by technological developments in the delivery of content. The success of our theme parks, resorts, cruise ships and experiences, as well as our theatrical releases, depends on demand for public or out-of-home entertainment experiences. Demand for certain out-of-home entertainment experiences, such as theater-going to watch movies, has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. In addition, many of our businesses increasingly depend on acceptance of our offerings and products by consumers outside the U.S. The success of our businesses therefore depends on our ability to successfully predict and adapt to changing consumer tastes and preferences outside as well as inside the U.S. Moreover, we must often invest substantial amounts in content production and acquisition, acquisition of sports rights, launch of new sports-related studio programming, theme park attractions, cruise ships or hotels and other facilities or customer facing platforms before we know the extent to which these products will earn consumer acceptance, and these products may be introduced into a significantly different market or economic or social climate from the one we anticipated at the time of the investment decisions. Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance. Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands. Consumer tastes and preferences impact, among other items, revenue from advertising sales (which are based in part on ratings for the programs in which advertisements air), affiliate fees, subscription fees, theatrical film receipts, the license of rights to other distributors, theme park admissions, hotel room charges and merchandise, food and beverage sales, sales of licensed consumer products or sales of our other consumer products and services. I bolded what Turley used in his piece for TheHill which FOXNews quotes. You- and anyone- can see that there is far more context here than what he purports. Additionally, anyone can see the quote talks about not solely social issues but also about distribution models (essentially "we" need to deliver content that people want to go see in theaters, or drives them to streaming, or the like). it also talks about sports rights fees, rides at amusement parks, and being able to read ahead of what the curve currently is at. It's simple to just say "WOKE" because people will hook into it but they are saying way more than that in this actual quote and they aren't really shying away from what they said but instead saying it is as much a customer's perception of what their position is. They aren't really saying woke hurt them despite what the headline wants people to believe.

Clear evidence here that Trump knew Epstein...but let's ignore that so we can make loose claims that Biden is a pedophile instead of an old dude who still thinks it's 1955 and you can act in a weirdly grabby manner. how about we just let Epstein rot in hell like he belongs and stop bringing the dude up? -
