The title of the article itself was: Soda Pop Wars: Inside ‘Pay-To-Post’ Campaign To Pit MAGA Against MAHA I was just quoting that title. Do you people not have the ability to read or do you just get off on taking unnecessary shots?
-
Interesting story here that looks at how people are manipulating discourse online through the battle over soda. There is a push from some circles to try and get soda labeled as ineligible from the SNAP system. Then a firm stepped in behind the shadows (allegedly-ish) and started paying MAGA influencers to make posts talking about this being government overreach, post pictures of Trump drinking Diet Coke, and paying people up to 1,000 dollars per pro-soda post. It just strikes me as interesting to this story but also to the idea that this speaks to a much larger issue where corporations and politicians are finding new ways to rile up people through less than noble means. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2025/03/25/soda_pop_wars_inside_pay-to-post_campaign_to_pit_maga_against_maha__152551.html

Yes when you use fake numbers and everything why should anything else matter. When people in the public are readily willing to whitewash what you do because you are for "their team" why bother? -

Heard and McDonald Islands - a territory which sits 4,000km (2,485 miles) south-west of Australia - are only accessible via a seven-day boat trip from Perth, and haven't been visited by humans in almost a decade. Heard Island, though, is barren, icy and completely uninhabited - home to Australia's largest and only active volcano, Big Ben, and mostly covered by glaciers. It is believed the last time people ventured on to Heard Island was in 2016, when a group of amateur radio enthusiasts broadcast from there with permission of the Australian government. The islands are listed by Unesco World Heritage as a rare example of an ecosystem untouched by external plants, animals or human impact. "It's heavily colonised by penguins and elephant seals and all kinds of sea birds," said Prof Coffin, who studies the undersea geography of the islands. According to export data from the World Bank, the islands have, over the past few years, usually exported a small amount of products to the US. But in 2022 the US imported US$1.4m (A$2.23m; ) from the territory, nearly all of it unnamed "machinery and electrical" products. shipments had been wrongly labelled as coming from the territories, rather than their actual places of origin. -

Trump just continues to be a huge pile of : He is missing this to go to the Saudi Arabia controlled golf tournament. And if you can find an example of Biden doing something like this- it was awful then too. HTH -
Pete Hegseth texted war plans to a reporter by accident
Sean Mooney replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
I never said it was Hegseth's fault. The only thing I did say he had any fault with was not double checking to make sure everything was what it needed to be and being too trusting. I balmed Waltz from the start and said he was the one. Blaming Goldberg for anything is silly. He was the one that got added. He talked about the problems with him being included- intentionally or not- and kept everything mostly basic. Then the Trump team decided to continually assault him and lie about stuff so he threw his receipts on the table. -
https://www.wjhl.com/news/regional/tennessee/722k-in-food-shipments-to-east-tennessee-food-bank-canceled-by-u-s-department-of-agriculture/ Condensed version of the story: The Second Harvest Food Bank of Tennessee had 21 tractor trailer loads of food (377,000 pounds in all) that were scheduled to be delivered through April and July canceled last week. The cancellation came about because the Commodities Credit Corporation is paused right now funding wise and pending federal review. The cancellation will affect programs like Mobile Pantry in the area and Harvest to Home- an organization which provides food and meals to people undergoing ongoing medical treatments). The Food Bank is currently trying to find ways to replace the cancelled deliveries but that is a lot of food and proteins to replace. Additionally, often the food from the USDA is more nutritious due to regulations that are followed. This also comes as a fallout of the 1 billion dollars in programs that the federal government has slashed that was earmarked for food bank and school programs for putting locally grown produce in schools and food bank programs. Look- whoever is doing this, hopefully they figure this out and stop it. Republican or Democrat this is bad policy and is creating unnecessary issues for people who need the food the most.

10% tariff on an island inhabited by penguins? Cool. -
Tons of deflection here to ignore the thread from the hardcore MAGA mook retards and then Gorge caught up in the crossfire.

Strawman at its finest from you. To be clear- - throw the full force of the law at the kid who stabbed the poor young man. Society should have no place for that BS he committed. - Also, question the schools and facilities to figure out how this snuck through and work to not let it happen again
-
And the knife got through a lot of different checkpoints. I don't know if anything would rise to the level of justifying being stabbed.
-
I mean it's happened- often.... I still would venture a guess there was more said than "Hey can you please move." Still I'd say too there are a lot of failures along the way to things like this happening.
-
Ok....then you know they do a lot of stupid things
-
No Perhaps- have you met high school kids? Most assuredly not. I'm going to take a strong guess the kid who was stabbed did more than just ask him to move. I will however, not say that whatever he said justified a stabbing.

That would be my guess too. Trump won't let it linger forever and regardless of what he does he knows a bunch of people in the media and online will whitewash for him so it won't matter long run. -

Notably too- yesterday he mocked that idea in his speech where he said "People complained to me about the price of groceries- that's a great old word, groceries- at the beginning and I said 'I've only been here a day'" -

What party is the one helping people by cutting off food deliveries to food banks and everything? I'm sure a lot of Wall Street tycoons are heading to the local pantry for containers of off-brand peanut butter and oddly shaped pears. -

Can we at least admit there is a huge risk in this? Yes it may work out ultimately. Companies may spend truckloads of money to put places here and implement change and bring back American manufacturing. Yes companies may swallow tariffs and not pass them on and we keep the status quo. Yes prices may rise because of tariffs and companies just say "Well the slight decline in profit margin isn't worth building all the new places here." Yes this may upend the system and cause a recession. Yes it may upend the system and be something we need ultimately. But a reasonable person should be able to recognize there is a huge risk in this -

Trump is going to put tariffs on fentanyl sales? That should be fun to watch and see how you tariff an illegal drug.
