Jasmine Crockett tells it like it is
Sean Mooney replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
What is your problem with answering a simple question? I don't care if you want to parrot Gutfield. He's a popular figure on the right. MAGA mooks here parrot far less popular people on the right. He is suggesting she is the face of the modern party. You are suggesting they should run her as the party face because "she will pay dividends later..." Sure- if you can find me parroting a Hamas terrorist then go ahead and equate me with them. It's okay you got got. Just admit and move on. I think you will find very little will change by just admitting the truth. -

And of course I looked online and saw Gutfield said this: "I want to see way more of Jasmine Crockett. I want to see her everywhere. I think she is the perfect face of the modern Democratic party." So you are taking your cues from Greg Gutfield? -

So she is the person the right are going to make the big bad for the next 4 years? Is this something Gutfield said? -
"Message Board Invasions"? Not often you see guys happily admit they've never had sex with a woman but here we are with this thread.

I doubt she's the face of the party in any way in 2028. I know you hate Tim but you know this isn't exclusive to him and the MAGA mooks here do the exact same thing. -

She shouldn't have said that about Gov. Abbott and really should be punished for it in some way- be that censure or whatnot. Of course Trump shouldn't have mocked a disabled reporter but the MAGA mooks here cheered that like crazy.. Basically civility is dead in politics and the whole enterprise is worse for it. -
The point of the article though is that this is not openly paid endorsements like a Brady or Mahomes. These are people that people already follow online putting this stuff out. It happens way more than you would imagine and I'd wager a strong guess people across all lines of the political spectrum fall for it.

Agreed that it is. -
Cool story bro. No one believes you leave your house or talk to anyone.

The article is more about the influencers than the actual debate itself.

Pete Hegseth texted war plans to a reporter by accident

While the rest fight I'll help you out. Michael Waltz is the one who started the group it seems and added the reporter's name. The belief is Waltz intended to add someone else to the chat and clicked the wrong person. (The name escapes me though) So it is more Waltz's mistake. Hegseth should've vetted it a little more but I can understand him trusting someone did their job correctly. -

I think a more accurate argument than "low IQ" would be the idea of "low income" impacting people heavily. Just seeing it from a student aged side of things one of the biggest determiners in a kid's education is their family income level. Notably because if a parent has to work multiple jobs to support a family there is less time at home reading with, and working with a kid which will lead to lower test scores and more of an educational struggle. That would eventually manifest into perhaps a lower IQ. But there are poor white people in that same boat as poor black people even though depending on your area the numbers would skew heavily in one direction or another. -
The RealClear writer does a pretty good job wading through it all. Belief is that the American Beverage Association might be behind it but that isn't confirmed. They also give numbers that say 6 out of 10 Trump voters feel sodas should stay eligible for food stamps. I don't particularly have a thought one way or the other on the issue of soda on food stamps. I know there are guidelines for things that can be bought but like if a person wants a 2 liter of Coke with the beans and milk and grain cereal- whatever. On the diet soda thing- there are some studies that indicate diet sodas are worse because of the artificial sugars. But I just don't like the taste of Diet Coke and the only time I will drink it is if I'm mixing it with whiskey or bourbon of some kind. Like I said- I'm more into the story on the grounds of this speaks to the influencer culture that is out there and how it is being manipulated by bad actors in the space.

TBF- the mistake is with Michael Waltz who added the reporter to the chat without being more careful about it all. Hegseth should've been confirming the group before putting details of their plans and stuff into it all. It's also a little surprising that the reporter was there (believed to be someone else) and no one questioned why the person was not saying anything as it seems like everyone else did at some point or another. -

It's also funny when you can see all the defenses being thrown in here and then as you look online you see all those defenses are things being spun by pundits. Literally just people on here repeating what people on TV told them to say. Ironic considering the MAGA mooks insist it is only the right who gets their marching orders. -

Pretty bad when a reporter for The Atlantic is more respectful and careful about US war plans than the national security advisor of the US and the secretary of defense. Yes I know that almost a day later they tried to cover up and circle the wagons to deny and discredit....but normal people see that they are lying to deflect away from incompetence. -

It's amusing to see the usual suspects in here doing gymnastics to try and make excuses for their leader's team. -

I didn't see the statement from the White House saying "Yes this text thread is real and happened but there were no war plans shared on it." I like the idea that there were two separate chats going down- one to discuss the rational for doing what they were going to do and then another to discuss the actual plans of it all. -

You work for the federal government? Just to circle back then: How commonly? How many times has it been used? What other things has it been used for? Was it used under Biden or Trump's first term? Please provide evidence and links that show how often it is used. -

It was not after the fact. The reporter saw all the lead up to it. Saw the discussions, saw the plans. C'mon bootlicker. Be honest about things. -
