Nobody has argued since May 1st. Captain Obvious was saying some dumb things and ran off in the thread
  3. I can count on one hand the number of conversations I've heard in my lifetime about transgender people. Here on the GC a new thread gets posted everyday. Touch grass people.
  4. They extended employee pricing on cars but said that will change by the end of the summer. They are also basically saying expect prices for certain vehicles to get higher. Most estimates are that it would take- conservatively- 2 years to get a new plant up and running or to reopen a shuttered plant. By that time we are talking almost summer of 2027 when we are into the early stages of campaign season for the 2028 presidential election and perhaps the landscape of politics is different after the 2026 mid terms. Why would any company be rushing to sink billions of dollars into a facility if they think things could change in the future? Instead they can just say "Oh well we have 3,000 in tariff charges- we will just raise the price of the vehicle 5,000 dollars."

There won't be incentives. It will just be- keep doing your job the same way as before. You've never worked for big business clearly.

    Trump Recession Thread (aka Trumpcession)

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas did a survey. For this month’s survey, Texas business executives were asked supplemental questions on the impact of tariffs. Results below include responses from participants of all three surveys: Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey, Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey and Texas Retail Outlook Survey. https://www.dallasfed.org/research/surveys/tbos/2025/2504q#tab-all

The DMV moves slow because there are never enough lines open and the computer systems are antiquated and slow. So let's cut people across all departments meaning now you have even less lines open and less people to work on the antiquated computer systems. Again- all they are doing is creating more work for less people which leads to burnout and a constant turnover of training people and people less inclined to do their job well because of being overworked.

No the difference between me and someone else (I won't presume you, but it could be you) is I don't root for them to fail. I don't root for any Presidents to fail because it would hurt the US regardless of whether I voted for them or not. Treating political parties like teams one roots for is childish. And yes I do know that- again- they took agencies specifically for certain things, cut those agencies down and/or rolled what they do into other agencies that they were also cutting down. So you have half the people doing twice the work. That never works. But yeah- maybe this will be the time it does.

They will be run inefficiently. If they didn't run efficiently with 100 employees, it isn't going to run better with 50.

    Musk's exit from the Magaverse

No it really shouldn't. Also, the government is accountable to tax payers who pay into the system and need things like SSI, and food welfare programs, and many other various resources that are being either shuttered or dumped into other departments to be run inefficiently. We should've kept departments, and found ways to cut inside of them without chainsawing everything to the ground and figuring out afterwards how to rebuild it.

    Musk's exit from the Magaverse

Government has bloat- nobody disputes that. The main objection is how these cuts and everything went down where it seems like there was lack of a plan and in DOGE's case it was more about "Oh man- look at the numbers." There is a lot of speculation about those numbers and what is actually being cut and by moving things under different groupings you are just creating more waste. To be more exact they are doing what a business does- consolidate departments and give more work to people who are still there because "##### you, do more work." That doesn't lead to efficiencies that leads to overworked people doing half ass jobs which cause different and/or more issues.

Elon musk can be both a successful businessmen who has started multiple companies and a person who headed DOGE that did not do near the good it was promised it would do overall.

    Shedeur Sanders is being disrespected.

I said I read multiple sites to look for trends but I also said I focus more on the scouting sites. You said "Malik Willis- all your sites had him top 5 (you didn't specify top 5 overall or top 5 QB so I was nice and gave you the latter as the benefit of the doubt)..." So I pulled one of my sites and showed that he was 7th on their draft board at the QB position. Your response was "Here's a site that averages mocks together and it shows him as the 20th best player." An average of things means exactly dickall to the discussion because I don't read, nor value, the opinion of such esteemed people like "Fantasy Law Guy, Packernet, Flurry Sports, Baltimore Beatdown, and Purple PTSD." To keep it simple for you- if you had Sanders as the 10th overall pick in the 1st round and I had him 30th- the conclusion should not be "EVERYONE HAS HIM IN THEIR TOP 20." The conclusion should be "There are wildly different opinions on this player and where they go."

It's nothing like what I referenced you dolt. And then when you tried to reference a site I use I proved how wrong you were. Again- take the L and move on. You look like a bigger dope than usual at this point.

    2026 NFL Draft QB Exercise

Lots of talk in the Shedeur Sanders thread about "experts" and "scouts" and whatnot and how players draft stock change over time. So let's chart this over the next year with the upcoming potential QB class using the NFL DraftBuzz rankings. I'll give you the current top 10 with, potential draft spots, and their overall grade. 1.) Arch Manning, Texas, Top 5 pick, 93.5 score 2.) Cade Klubnik, Clemson, Top 10 pick, 89.6 3.) Drew Allar, Penn State, Top 10 pick, 89.0 4.) Nico Iamaleava, UCLA, Mid 1st round, 88.0 5.) Garrett Nussmeier, LSU, Mid 1st round, 87.7 6.) LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina, Mid 1st round, 86.5 7.) Sam Leavitt, Arizona State, Late 1st round, 84.6 8.) John Mateer, Oklahoma, Mid 2nd round, 83.6 9.) Miller Moss, Louisville, Late 2nd round, 83.6 10.) Carson Beck, Miami, Late 2nd, 83.3 So that lays the starting point for this exercise/project. I would say at first glance they seem to be pretty ambitious that 7 QBs could go in the 1st round as I just don't see that many teams needing QBs going into the 2026-2027 season...but we will be able to follow now how the projections and rankings change as we get a new season of college stats and development under the belts. Some people will opt to stay in college, someone outside the top 10 will pop up, and there is always the case that Manning completely sh!ts the bed as a QB.

What the fook is your problem? I've never once spoken to anything racist about Sanders. I only commented that some posters in here seemed to be taking a racist slant to it from the dumb arguments they were presenting. I never once said a person in the media has to be racist or anything like that. And no I don't think the NFL avoided Sanders because of his skin color. I've talked to the validity of scouting predictions and where I was seeing Sanders was projected to go. You are throwing this way off course to make yourself feel better and you clearly don't understand the Nix point I'm making.. Stop being an azzhole

    2026 NFL Draft QB Exercise

No- posters can make projections. I'm all for it. The genesis of the thread comes from some dopes in the Sanders thread bashing scouting places and projections for QB's and everything. So I thought it would be interesting to monitor how the incoming top 10 shifts over the next year. Individual posters ideas may shift over that time as well. Good catch. I'll fix it

I do follow football. I thought Nix had a chance to be a pretty good QB in the NFL. As a Chargers fan, when he went to the Broncos my first thought was "Dammit!" I knew he was going to a really good head coach that does a great job of developing quarterbacks. And for a chance at him meeting or succeeding his potential he was in a great spot to do it. Again- the pick was mocked more for the value of when he went and not where he went. People knew he had talent. NFL Draft Buzz had him as a late 1st round pick. If a majority of "experts" think someone is like a 25th pick in the draft and they go 12th....yes that will raise eyebrows. But again- I already mentioned I think sometimes people don't account for team needs in those situations. Denver needed a QB, liked Nix a lot, and weren't sure he'd get back to them. Take him in that case.

The point is- those people felt Nix was a 1st round pick- they just differed on how high he would/should go in that draft. 12 seemed high but it wasn't a knock on the dude's talent. And I mean has he performed well? Sure. He also ended up in a really good place, with a really good coach, and a really good offensive system. That stuff matters too. Look at Baker Mayfield- he was the #1 pick for Cleveland and went 29-30 as a starter. He had 3 head coaches, 4 offensive coordinators, and just no talent really around him. And yet he still got them to a playoff and beat the Steelers there. He goes to Tampa Bay (eventually) and is 19-15, has a better TD:INT ratio, more stable coaching, better weapons. But you can do all the scouting in the world but at some point you have to understand 2 things that are hard to quantify in a prospect 1.) How stable is our program and situation- you can control this some 2.) What is the value (perceived and/or real) of that person to every other team in the league?- you can't control this.

I'll ask again because people don't want to seem to back up their beliefs: So enough talk about this Sanders stuff. Let's have some people put up their opinions on record. What do you see as Sanders ceiling?: 1.) NFL Elite QB 2.) Decent QB who might be able to lead you to a playoff here and there but plagued by inconsistencies. 3.) Average starter who will lead team to like consistent 9-8/8-9 seasons 4.) Career Backup who kicks around the NFL wearing a headset making bank doing nothing. 5.) Complete and utter NFL washout. 6.) Best QB in the CFL 7.) Best QB in the UFL I think his ceiling is probably option 3.....but I would not be surprised if 6 happens
