***Official Trump beat up the kamel again thread****
Sean Mooney replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
In a few other debates where Kamala has participated she got pretty much steam rolled by Tulsi Gabbard and while she did better against Pence in 2020 she still only at best pushed that draft. Her debate skills have been regularly kind of bad especially for a former prosecutor. It felt like last night was a perfect opportunity for Trump to fully halt her momentum (which has been receding) and end this for good. From what I saw last night in bits and pieces and from what I gathered this morning watching more of what I missed she started off weak with a bad answer avoiding the question of "are Americans better off today than 4 years ago." And Trump made an initially solid case or two. But then she started to find her footing. She did what I'd expect a prosecutor to do and painted pictures with her words (I'd imagine for a lot of women voters the idea of a woman bleeding out in her car because she can't get healthcare she needs due to the overturning of Roe vs Wade will stick). Trump reeled a little as he couldn't figure out the best way to approach this. Then she took the dig about the rallies and he was off the rails at that point and never really recovered. She outright said "Go to his rallies and he won't talk about you or your needs." His response was "I have the best rallies. The biggest rallies." He couldn't even pretend to give an answer about the American people. I imagine his people backstage facepalmed at his response. Even on the immigration thing- which should be a big issue for him- he went for crazy instead of reality. They asked about his comments on her blackness and his response was "I couldn't care less..." then he proceeded to talk for another minute or so about her blackness. She talked about America being an optimistic place and we should embrace one another and he yelled about how the country is failing. She kept talking about her tax credits for small business. He just kept yelling about things. She talked about him being a joke to world leaders. The only person he mentioned is an autocrat in Hungary. When asked about his plan for replacing the ACA he said "I have concepts....but I'm not the President." She constantly walked him into traps and he kept taking the bait over and over again. Look in the end I don't know how much a debate matters- some of us talked about that the other day- but if they do matter than I think the Harris camp has to be incredibly pumped about how last night went. If she loses- it won't be because of how she performed in the debate. Now they need to sit and talk with Tim Walz and have a good answer for when the question comes up about stolen valor....because it is going to come. -

I tend to agree. Ukraine has done a great job holding off Russia but at some point (6 months from now, 5 years from now) they will not be able to anymore. And we should not fund it in perpetuity. -

When asked about the plan to replace Obamacare and you respond with "I've got concepts...but I'm not President right now..." doesn't exactly instill me with confidence that you have a plan of any kind. -
Tyreek Hill stopped by the police before game

A person sees a friend of theirs handcuffed on the ground and they get out of the car to ask questions about it (even though they would normally know they probably shouldn't).... I understand why some people here would struggle with that concept. If you have no friends you wouldn't understand the feeling..... -

lots of "what ifs" you'd have to jump through. Here's my thing- if you think illegal border crossings are bad then that should be enough. If a side has to resort to "Oh they are eating your cats and ducks" as a means of goosing the story (No pun intended) then perhaps the illegal border crossings story isn't an ender the way people think. However, it's how this country operates anymore with politics....it has to go to the furthest extreme. -

The interesting part of the body cam footage (in the 3:35 video) is the cop who is wearing the bodycam really doesn't do anything. He seems to be trying to diffuse the situation at times with Jonnu and is trying to calmly get people moved. Not sure if it is because he knows his bodycam is on or if he disagreed with how things were being handled. He is also seemingly the guy who steps back from Hill's car and says sort of quietly "It's Tyreek Hill." -

What did either of them do to interfere? One was parked and on the phone, the other was beside the car away from the cop and asking questions. Both their hands were up the whole time and visible and neither of them reached for a weapon. They were given conflicting orders by some douchenozzle cop with a complex. I think there is a considerably stronger case for how poorly Calais and Jonnu were treated than how Hill was treated. -

The Hill stuff is bad but Hill vs the cops is like the ultimate heel vs heel matchup. Still though the worst part is when they tell the guy in front (I believe Jonnu Smith)- "Move your car out of here" and like a second later the other dude is yelling "Give me your license." Well that is conflicting options now because I can't get in my car and move if I'm being asked to give a license. That cop had a huge inferiority complex and should be shitcanned. You are a such a piece of human garbage. So many pvssies become cops so they can feel important, it's no wonder you pretend you were one. There are multiple times across the various videos where the arrestees are being given conflicting instructions. -

America was great before Trump. It was great during Trump. It was great after Trump...it will continue to be great. -

Under Biden: Number of uninsured Americans is at an all time low Most jobs added over first three years of his term than any President ever (there are some caveats there potentially) Wage increases started to out pace inflation last year (this- much like inflation- is something Biden deserves neither full credit nor blame for) Staved off a recession American households are wealthier than ever before Wage inequality narrowed (under Trump all income groups saw wages increase but the higher earners saw their wages increase much more rapidly than the bottom earners) Dollar has strengthened against other world currencies over the past 3 years (this ties to the recovery from COVID and preventing a recession) Violent crimes, mainly homicides, have fallen (They were up 29% in 2020, went up some more in 2021, dropped some in 20222, then dropped almost 12% in 2023. Much of the decline is attributed to Biden encouraging states to use money from the 2021 stimulus package- 350 billion in all- to fund law enforcement. The stock market is blazing Unemployment is still low Oil production is at an all time high in the US Trump has positives on his record during his 4 year term as many here have mentioned over time. Biden has positives has well. They both have negatives. They both are old as ##### people too who struggle to string together coherent sentences for various reasons. -

Last I saw the ducks thing was still unconfirmed. The cats thing is straight BS. -

This was in a CNN article about the debate tonight: So 3/4ths of registered voters are going to watch and well over a quarter of registered voters thing the debate will make a difference. Those numbers seem big. -

That's fine to feel confident but there are enough warning signs in polling and everything to say that maybe you need to adopt more of a wait and see type approach to all of this. Kamala needs to do well tonight defining herself and her policies. She needs to put together a marketing blitz too. Spend that war chest she has. I'm in a battleground state and I've seen more Trump ads by probably a 3 to 1 margin -

So it has been shown this story is pretty fake- or at the very least- based on some weird unconfirmed information. But yeah- social media is running with it including Elon Musk. So of course the MAGAs are eating it up.....you know like they claim the Haitians are doing to cats. As usual the left tends to underplay things, the right tends to wildly overplay them -

I agree they normally would...but I think this is one where it will matter to some people. Again we have to see what Kamala outlines and if she is holding the line on Biden policies or outlining some of her own. Trump will have to come off as not crazy which is never a given. It will be also interesting to see how she attacks him during the debate and how he approaches returning fire against her -

I'm of the belief she will lose rather handily (well as handily as anything is in 2024 politics) The only caveats I will add are these: 1.) Polling pretty universally underestimated Trump's chances in 2016 as they had no real way to account for Trump voters where were not willing to say they were Trump voters. They corrected it some in 2020 so I'm not sure if they have further corrected it leading to an overcorrection or if it is right in line with where it should be. Not to mention in 2022 they underrepresented the Democrat voters turnout pretty heavily. 2.) I think there are a lot of people waiting to see how the debate goes this week. There are clearly people already voting left or right and it doesn't matter but I think there are a large number of swing voters here who are taking a wait and see approach. Like I don't think they love Kamala's policies or what has been happening since 2020, but they also aren't necessarily inclined to vote for Trump again. Which of course highlights the idea I said before that if it were anyone in the GOP other than Trump running they would probably be winning handily at this point. 3.) I'm not sure how the polling accounts for younger voters which is what I would assume is where more of Kamala's support lies. The flip side to that is- those young voters are also notoriously unreliable as voters. -

Running this through the real world translator HT: watched some 5am church show on TV, got as close as he legally could to a community park without violating the protection orders, then sat at his computer and had some Little Debbie snack cakes and added some more aluminum foil to his rabbit ears so he could get the Giants game on TV. -

I'm sure there are some Haitian immigrants that have. I'm sure there are white people, black people, Asian people, hispanic people, and any number of nationalities who have people that have killed pets or other animals. The story you shared seems like one of those scare tactic things that fly around small towns -

Interesting time machine stuff to look at based off where we were at this point in 2016 and 2020. Not sure if the methodology is different in 2024 for some of this or what it all portends for the election. Obviously the chart columns go (state, 2024, 2020, 2016) This Day In History - September 9th RCP Average 2024 2020 2016 National Harris +1.4 Biden +7.5 Clinton +2.7 Wisconsin Harris +1.5 Biden +6.4 Clinton +5.3 Pennsylvania Tie Biden +4.3 Clinton +6.2 Ohio Trump +9.0 Biden +2.4 Clinton +1.0 Michigan Harris +1.2 Biden +3.2 Clinton +7.3 Arizona Trump +1.6 Biden +5.7 Trump +1.7 Nevada Harris +0.6 Biden +7.5 Clinton +1.7 North Carolina Trump +0.7 Biden +1.5 Clinton +0.8 Georgia Harris +0.1 Trump +1.3 Trump +1.6 Florida Trump +6.0 Biden +1.2 Clinton +0.3 -

Once my wife and I had kids I couldn't watch that scene anymore. Just hit me way differently. -
And we were this close...... Seriously though- we wildly disagree politically but when you aren't screaming "gloryhole" junk I think you actually will attempt to support your point of view and it's why I appreciate you and RLLD and jerry for the most part over guys like HT who just says crazy things and runs away or Reality who just insults people and adds nothing to a discussion of any value.

I just think when he isn't yelling "gloryhole!!!" he can be talked to reasonably. I'll look for some examples and share later

The indictment reads that the major issue is the people did not register as foreign agents and never disclosed their business dealings like they are supposed to. Additionally Tenet was paid to contract with and pay YouTube influencers to create pro Russia material, or at least feature the pro Russia stuff. I'm not sure why you are taking this so personally other than it's your boy and hero getting drug into this. But again- many are saying he should be given the benefit of the doubt for now and blame Tenet Media more. Pro Russia content in a vacuum is fine. When you are working for a company paid by Russian media company to deliver pro Russia stuff- that is not okay. Also- a video was shared here that was very pro Russia in nature and way over the top. Not sure if that was influenced in any way

Good- you can stay on topic. Try it more often.
