I had to take an art history elective in college. Had I not taken that class I probably would've thought it was mocking The Last Supper too. Of course I would have had to ignore all the other tributes to French history and ignore that there are connections between Dionysus and the French culture and Olympic games...but again- I know that is getting much further into actually reading and researching stuff than you ever go. The difference is my default wouldn't have been "ROAR! MAH OUTRAGE!!!!" It would've been "Well that was stupid" (as pretty much all Olympics opening and closing ceremony stuff is.

The screen with multiple events going at once is a nice touch

Well obviously you don't know art history....not surprising

No. That was easy

Just a lot of picture taking. I also heard the police were letting them in so it's cool. Of course these people are idiots that are doing this. Find them, arrest them, throw the full weight of the court at them -

Where exactly did you stop reading this thread? Peenie said: "Toll booth operators don't carry guns and they interact with car drivers, and they even have money. " Hawkeye disagreed with him and said: "Second, a job like working a toll booth is not dangerous. A criminal doesn't care about a toll booth operator or meter maid. " So I responded and said: "I'm going to guess a toll booth collector interacts with some very irrational people regularly. " (NOTE- that isn't saying the job is dangerous. That isn't advocating for them to have guns or for police to not have guns because of that) You chimed in to say: "t's not about irrational. It's about dangerous. I'm sure there have been violent incidents involving a toll booth operator but I bet they're pretty damn rare. I mean, why would someone attack a toll booth operator?" I responded with: "People are idiots...that's why" as an answer to your question of why would someone attack a toll booth operator. Again- I'm not advocating anything gun wise in one way or the other. I was just commenting on the idea that I'm sure toll booth collectors confront whackos everyday. You for some reason took this to mean I'm saying we should arm toll collectors and accused me of picking a random occupation even though it was specifically mentioned for a number of posts- BY yourself included. Also, note- I'm not saying it is more dangerous than being a cop or really even close to the danger level. -

It's a shame we live in a political climate where we can't thread a needle of "We support Israel but not Netanyahu" Even with that though it is terrible form to just skip out on the speech altogether. -

The part I bolded is the important part to me. I can understand the argument that sometimes things are too close to make a call. But here this guy overreacted and the minute he pulled his gun- the situation was going to end badly. -

I guess my thing would be- if someone sympathizes with the kids but doesn't necessarily talk about it with them- does that count in your number? Even still- 25% you are talking over 800 thousand people- and there are more conservatives in the teaching profession than you think I'd imagine -
Yeah I don't either. For someone who has a pretty solid straight ahead drive and good short iron game. That putting game is like"WTF". And the funniest part about hsi golf game is he can't help himself from being Trump. If you watch him golf and then got told "He's got a 10 handicap." You'd think "Yeah I can see that. And for a 78 year old, that's really solid." And if you got told "He regularly shoots like 85." You'd think "Yup, I can see that." but no- he has to be "a 2 handicap and won multiple club championships." Dude factoring in handicaps you would see someone winning a club championship at like 5 or 6 under par. Trump isn't shooting a 70 with a 2 handicap. Just putting alone I would imagine he 2 putts at least 12 holes. That right there is 36 strokes on 12 holes without factoring in an approach shot or two which is going to put you anywhere between 48-60 shots. Split the difference and say 54. He's have to shoot a 16 on the remaining 6 holes. Nah.

There are roughly 3.2 million full time teachers in the US. If there were say 500K of those videos in one year that would be like 15% of the profession. And there aren't that many of those videos in a given year. -

I will say this. There are dummies who teach who think they have to promote causes (really like there are in every single walk of life). Those people ruin things for the good teachers. -
I would hope he can golf. He plays it enough. His putting form though is awful

The left attacks cops unfairly letting the few speak for the group and it ruins recruitment. The right attacks teachers letting the few speak for the group and it ruins recruitment. People need to stop painting groups with a broad brush and singularly go after the bad people. -

A few things to note for me after watching the video: 1.) The woman clearly seems to have some sort of mental issue. They need to recognize there might be an issue there with a person even if it would be unfair for them to fully diagnose it in the moment. Like if you recognize "Something might be off here" that should affect how you handle the situation. 2.) There were two cops. One of them should have taken the pot of water off the stove- especially while she was sitting on the couch. They tell her to go remove it, essentially putting the "weapon" in her own hand. 3.) Pretty sure the language being used is not what a cop is taught as it would do more to escalate the situation than to diffuse it. 4.) He had a taser on him and drew the gun. Once you do that- things are pretty much beyond the point of no return because no one will act rationally when a gun in involved- both suspect and police alike. 5.) Advancing towards her with the pot of water in her hand is also escalating the situation. If you are concerned about burns then move backward from her and to your right to try and get an angle. She wasn't going to throw the water across the room at you. 6.) Not providing medical care after the shot is pretty egregious. Pretty sure even after what is believed to be a kill shot the police are supposed to try and administer aid or assess the health of the victim. This guy just basically said "Let her ##### go" Either way it's sad for all parties involved. Obviously for Massey as she lost her life and obviously for Grayson as his career is probably over and we don't know if he actually ever received the proper training for the situation he was in. -
JD Vance has a historically low favorability rating for a VP candidate coming out of the convention. That isn't good. Also, his Mountain Dew joke was dangerously close to "Please clap.."

I saw some clips of Kamala's first rally yesterday. There was energy in the building which is something you can't really say for the past few years of Biden rallies. -

Will democrats ever hold a presidential primary again

6 months and then dropped out to run as an Independent. Also, never said no one runs against the incumbent....but when was the last time that an incumbent lost their party nomination in the following primary?
