For me, I'm starting to look at it differently. You've heard of Heinz Berggruen, one of the most prominent German art collectors of the 20th century? He was friends with Pablo Picasso and many other leading artists, but, it wasn't his ability to say to himself, "you know these paintings by Picasso are the ones that are really going to be worth something some day" that made him a fortune. Instead it was the fact that he bought everything he could, mass collections by all sorts of artists. Decades later when one Picasso turned out to be priceless, it really didn't matter if 99% of all the other paintings weren't worth very much.
