They are a much much less percentage of my portfolio right now, but, I still have six figures in each. Thinking about selling more.

The math is pretty simple. If he's really retired right now, (10 years before you will be, ~same age) he has to have 2M or more or he will run out of money. From a pure financial perspective that makes him more successful than you. I can keep explaining it to you, but, I can't force you to understand.

He's retired, independently wealthy, if we take him at his word. Compare that to you, at your word, who hopes to have 2 million 10 years from now at age 65.
