The two largest owners of local television affiliates are Nexstar and Sinclair. Both companies contribute generously to conservative causes and support Trump. Their goal is media monopolization. The FCC Director threatened to use the power of the his agency to.ensure "broadcast standards of honesty" or somesuch. In conjunction, Trump told a reporter he would come after Disney and Comcast next. Disney and Comcast own ABC and NBC. Sinclair and Nexstar decide to pull Kimmel. ABC does the same, claims it's just a quick hiatus. The President and FCC chief just made statements of disagreement with a comedian and that comedian is quickly removed from broadcast television. None of the above is disputed. If you do not see the problem here, you are probably part of it.

I found a few artists I wouldn't mind seeing. Some decent EDM artists like Armin van Buuren, Moby, Duke DuMont, Royksopp. Nobody other than Iggy and Black Flag that I'd seek out. For a single weekend, General Admission, bare bones camping, you're looking at close to a grand for one person to attend. Plus then food, drinks, merch, and whatever drugs one consumes. Saw a punk rock festival in Denver last summer. 2 days, about 40 bands. Less than $250 for the weekend for upgraded, but not VIP tickets. Those included free beer for the first three hours (!), an easily accessible venue, no need to camp, much better music, and oh yeah I'm in a beautiful mountain city, not the middle of the fockin desert sweatin balls in the dirt with no access to a shower. Maybe I'm getting old.

Meh. I see where you're coming from, but long hair, dreads, and beards can look fine if the wearer takes requisite time for grooming. I work with doctors that have dreads. They are squared away. Also, given current recruiting woes, I would think the armed forces would be looking at ways to increase recruiting. This seems counterintuitive to those ends.

Yes. This makes what is already a big problem into a crisis. These companies (and private owners taking advantage of Air B&B and VRBO) are demolishing the market for those making under 6 figures.

Why? I've never understood this. My employer had similar regulations before I started. Limited facial hair not to exceed a certain length, no visible tats, no visible piercings other than ears, among others. Doing away with that was good for hiring/recruiting.

Racist and off-color jokes rule. You just have to know your audience. I had to google to even remember which of his movies I really liked. I was thinking his work as a director was better, but the only one of his directorial efforts I really love is Ordinary People. The Sting, The Natural, Butch & Sundance, 3 Days of the Condor were good. All the President's Men was great. Turns out, Redford doesn't do much for me. I'm more of a Newman guy. Disclaimer: Just because I don't love Redford doesn't mean I'm disrespecting a dead man. Don't arrest me!

I've also read his posts for years and remember when there were claims at FBG that he was entirely a satirical account. The fact that I could never quite parse out whether that was even partially true is a testament to how he posts. He does not engage in ad hominem attacks and doesn't start fifty threads a week about the same subject. His jabs are subtle(r). He makes funny jokes. The other two, near as I can tell, have no redeeming qualities in any of their non-football posting. I'd happily have a beer or 5 with Tree of Knowledge Dropper. You couldn't pay me enough to sit across a table for 10 minutes with foam and void. I respect myself too much for that.

To say there is no anti-white racism in America is laughable. There is. Plenty of it. But if you think repealing the CRA is the answer, I'm not sure what to tell you. Two wrongs don't make a right, and there are plenty of "quiet" racists in this country that would happily use the opportunity to fire or not hire people of certain minorities. What a giant step backwards that would be.

To be fair, I'm not sure what they would charge him with. Disorderly conduct? Maybe they'll get lucky and he was wasted or carrying something illegal. The world is full of a-holes, and being one isn't illegal. If it were, this place wouldn't exist. We'd all be in jail.
